Arrow KB Gathering - Turangi 4-6 June 2011 (Queen's Birthday Weekend)

Just putting out a feeler to see who's keen on heading down this year? I haven't booked as yet so not even sure how many cabins avail at this stage, will investigate if there is plenty of interest.

If your not sure what the KB Gathering is, have a look at last years details HERE same as last year.....

Back due to popular demand! Same as we did in '07/'08/09 and 2010 a for the KB Gathering.

    WHAT IS THE KB GATHERING?

KBers (Kiwibikers) from North (Auckland/Northland/Waikato), South (Wellington/Wairarapa/Manawatu/South Island), East (Bay of Plenty/Hawkes Bay) and West (Taranaki) converge together in Turangi (Southern end of Lake Taupo) and have a bloody good time over the three days (or four if you head down earlier).

    WHAT ARE WE DOING?
    Friday
Some of us will make our leisurely way down on the Friday. This day is optional as the main part of the 'Gathering' is from the Saturday to Monday.

    Saturday
Regional groups ride to Turangi on Saturday (obviously you wouldn't ride direct, its a good chance to explore some roads on the way there), meet and greet Sat arvo over a beer or two. Settle in for the night. There are Hot pools accessible 24hours where are staying! Nothing better than a beverage in a hot pool

    Sunday
Go for a group ride or multiple group rides (depends on group numbers) Here are some suggestions from past years; Taumuranui Saddle, Lake district - Desert Rd - Ohakune - Napier / Hastings - Forgotten Highway etc ... Please suggest ideas for rides in the thread, the actual ride will be decided on when we have all arrived at Turangi and congregate in the hot pool ...

Saturday / Sunday night have dinner at the restaurant next door and drinkies etc.

    Monday
Say our goodbyes and head back home.

    WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Saturday 4th June, Sunday the 5th June and Monday the 6th of June. After previous year's experience some of us will be making our way down on the Friday......

.....as usual, we'll try and pop in for a dip and a tipple.
Got laid off last week, so may be work dependent.

....and if a stereophonics tee shirt should reappear at the side of the hotpool.....that'd be nice!

Well it looks promising so far, any ideas on where everyone wants to ride to on the Sunday ride? I was thinking about playing around the backroads of Taupo - Gisborne or the Forgotten Highway again.......?

Or is this going to be another 'around the pool' affair?
