I'm with Genesis as well. I guess Dunedin has lower electricity prices than Hamilton.

I'm on the "in charge" pre-pay for Genesis. As far as I am aware this is more expensive? Who knows the Palmerston North rate
    (If it is different...)
That way I can quote useless facts and figures to anyone near or around my house.
    Will reduce knob chaffing too.

Genisis has extremely cheap power in Dunedin, and the other companies can't compete. Genesis reported to the Electricity industry that they made an error in their pricing and didn't take into consideration Aurora's excessive line charges. Unfortuantely for Genesis they have locked themselves in for a period and can't raise their prices to where they should be.

They are able to compensate by charging the wholesale market $57M for a single day in late march when they had market power north of Hamilton.
