Hey punters...anyone know of a site where I can watch the Superbikes on tonight?

It's one of the only tracks where I think racing no matter what can't be missed! Bit like the old Hockenheim. Wish the Moto GP circus would go there.

A bit harsh alright...I'm not a Biaggi fan at all but that was a bit rough

Anyone know what are the specific rules covering that are? how could he have avoided the ride through? I thought he slowed down enough, but how do you even make an accurate determination?

I haven't got much sympathy for him, he's an experienced campaigner and the rules are in place to minimise any advantage and to also minimise the danger to himself and other competitors when he re-enters the track. The rules are also in place to do away with any grey areas as to what constitutes an advantage and/or dangerous. This is his home track, he knew the rules, so he's only got himself to blame.

He didn't seem to re-enter any differently to anyone else who ran off there, although I admit I didn't watch it all that closely. Was he too close the race line?

Riders were allowed to go straight up to three times in a race if they could not brake enough to make it through the chicane, provided they re-enter the race from inside a narrow lane marked by two white lines. The rule was explained to riders in a briefing but, according to Paolo Ciabatti, WSBK general manager, Biaggi had missed the briefing. That proved costly as Biaggi was forced to take the straight route on lap 11 but failed to re-enter the track from within the painted laneway.

yep - good find that.... Changes my view that it was harsh on Biaggi. There were clear rules there for the safety of all. He skipped the briefing and broke the rule which was stated clearly. Biaggi fucked it up (again).
