    Arai helmet parts?

Does anyone know who would stock Arai helmet parts in NZ (Specifically side pods). I'm after a quick delivery if possible.

    Cheers...

Dold Industries in Hamilton are the importers. Should be available through most bike shops.

No, I was removing the visor (in the prescribed manner) andI broke the top lug. Itmust have been very weak as I didnt use much force. This is typical Arai actually. They are fine for a few years and then parts become brittle (yes I know about correct cleaning).

Dold Industries only sell to shops , not the public which is an absolute pain because I need the part by tomorrow. Fuck it.

I can't say I've ever experienced that, and I've been through several Arai's.

I've gone direct to Dold's before today when the back venting system fell off my Chaser. They fixed it free of charge in 24 hours.

    Top people.

A big shout of thanks to Nic for sending me a couple of used side pods from her old damaged helmet. It saved my bacon and I was able to use my helmet last weekend. Thanks Nic.

I love Arai's and wont use anything else... but I've had two helmets which had brittle parts. They are very susceptible to aerosol cleaners . I learned that with my 1st Arai (A Doohan rep which I still have). This later lid (a Schwantz Rep) has had a few parts break despite only cleaning with water and soap.

Last time I ordered parts for my helmet, I ordered from Cyclespot Honda (an Arai dealer). I needed an air vent which popped off when I bumped it. I placed the order and taped the vent in place and pretty much forgot about the order (it is cyclespot after all and everything I did va them went wrong at the time). 9 (yes NINE !!!) months later I got a call from them that the part had arrived. So much for the famous Arai service.

Speaking of which is there a place in NZ which will "service" an Arai helmet ? I had this done on a helmet in the UK years ago. They replaced worn parts and the helmet was made good as new... does such a thing exist here ?
