You could always move to Tuhoe and try to tell the government you're out of their jurisdiction. You could try whathisface's "No contract, no contract" bollocks. Or you could move to Afghanistan. They probably don't have speed cameras there.
As Wysper said, if I had a family to feed and the job of sitting in the van for a few hours a day came up, I'd take it, especially if it paid $20 an hour or something due to the danger of idiots approaching the van wanting have a go (I don't have a clue how much these guys are paid). Your speedo is only accurate to within 10% if you are lucky and on new rubber. Add a down hill or any of numerous other conditions and it is easy to exceed a < 5% allowance yet still be operating in a safe manner.

But this is where the whole 4k push FAILS. Speed is only reduced as a factor if you get everyone traveling at the same speed and knowing what speed they are doing. This also reduces road rage. If you a traveling at what you believe is 100k by your speedo and the next guy is doing true 100k off his GPS then you are an impediment to him. Booking someone for safely doing 4k over the guessed at 100k, cause we all know we can't trust the speedo to tell us when we are doing 100k, is a scam.

but people should complain about speeding scams, they do nothing for road safety & actually have an adverse affect on it, it is only there to bring the Govt $$$ nothing more, so people should complain but we should complain on a national scale & direct to the scum hiding out in parliament I like awayatc's idea, its time to fumigate the beehive

Complaining,or focusing on a problem on keeps it going, I would rather focus on a solution rather than a problem.IMO. I will only fight for something,never against.

However, you call it a 'stupid decision', and this is where you are wrong. Over here in Auckland we have a heap of steep hills with wide roads. To the average driver you wouldn't feel right to ride the brakes all the way down, only to emit plumes of wasted fuel and go up the other side. In fact to do that would be the stupid decision. Even conservative, brake riding asian drivers gain speed in these places.

That's like saying it's your fault if I spill oil onto the road in the night and you fall off going over it on your bike. It's a typical Kiwi attitude to take it up the bum like that. Like ScubaSteve said, people should complain about speeding scams, they do nothing for road safety & actually have an adverse effect on it. I know it's only a ticket and no big deal, but so many larger issues actually stem from this same blind attitude we have towards problems.

I mostly ride my bike and I don't get caught by these cameras anyway even if I was going 60, my concern is just for other innocent motorists. Hey, 'it's no biggie' , 'she'll be right'.

Tough choice, to stay close to the limit but possibly go above it by keeping your eyes on the road and stay at a reasonable speed or to keep your eyes on the speedo and risk not seeing the ball come out on the road or the kid following it. You best obey the law.
