    Ducati Down

Sorry sight on the way home last night.

Young lady with her (I think) 400 Ducati monster standing on the side of main north road with the bike up on the footpath.
Saw alot of petrol on the ground and thought "Shit"!, whats happened.
Due to busy traffic I had to go right down the road and turn around to get back to the scene.
Pulled up and asked if everything was ok and could I offer any help (as ALL KBers would for a fellow biker).
The lady advised me she was ok and unhurt...but the little ducati wasn't...smashed in rear/tank & broken clutch handle
She went on to explain that she was sitting at the give way on Styx mill Rd and a car had failed to stop for the same give way ..smashing into the back of the little ducati .....and then promptly drove off!
The Lady was very calm and had done a great job getting the bike picked up (petrol everywhere!) got the road cleared and had checked herself for injuries etc.
What got me was that during some of the busiest traffic I had ridden in all week...not one person had bothered to stop...not friggin ONE!, this poor lady could have been seriously hurt and in need of assistance, yet all the cagers where just driving by googling at the scence, what...to Busy to help?
I felt so sorry for this lady having her bike smashed up by a hit & run dickhead and then having to watch all that traffic tootle past with not one offer of help.
As I was talking with her, guess who turned up....the gutless prick who rear ended her....was it his concience that made him turn back..NO!, it was his GIRLFRIEND! (thankyou!) sitting in the seat beside him that changed his mind...and his GIRLFRIEND! that got out of the car and ran over to appologise for him, while he sat there and tried to look tough as I glared at him like he was a peice of *$&%!!!.
Once the idiot had driven off in his death machine (wheel spining as he left) The biker lady assured me that she was really ok and her boyfriend was on the way with a pick up vehicle, I cruised off home feeling sad for the fellow biker & her little ducati...and really pissed off with the rest of society.

If you know this brave lady, please send her my best...I was truly impressed by her calm demeanor and tough resilience, it was an honor to stop and offer assistance, I hope the Little "Ducati Down" is repairable....it looked like it was a much loved ride.

Kia Kaha!...from WillyTheeKid & PhatGirl....We stop for ALL bikers in need! (unlike the rest of society)

I suggest she make a complaint to police. Shame no-one got them there and dealt with him at the time. Makes for a better case in Court. I hope a 40 tonne truck rears him in the arse next time he is at a give way.

...don't I know it!, she just blew the head gasket this week(My Right boot is well oiled!)....just after I lovingly stripped her down over the weekend to put in a new clutch input bearing & to ensure her rear end was all greased up and ready for winter...figures lol, but I love the PhatGirl, she always get me home.
