Im not a part of the gang and the only part that i have in it is my father belongs to it . What a bunch of douches some of you are

ANZAC day was what - three weeks ago?
If people are going to spout on about Freedoms earned or Rights taken - I assume they attended an ANZAC parade, and thanked those that ensured this Freedom.

Yes the Turks are grateful the invasion of their country was not a success.
Even the Queen acknowledged the wrongs of the British Empire with the first visit to Ireland by a member of the Royals for over 100 years.
My Father in Law served on Wellington bombers and never attended an Anzac service.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

My grandfather served in France in WWI and refused to have anything to do with the ANZAC services or the RSA.
Yes the Turks were grateful but also interesting how they respect the ANZACs that tried to invade their country.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, not eternal obligations

The main thrust of my point was that Freedom isn't a privilege - it's a right.

Vigilance - hmmm. This comes at a cost, financial and social. No point simply watching for the "reds" to come visiting - you need the ability to slow/stop them. Or be in a coalition of sorts that can do so.

Freedom is a right? Tell that to the NKoreans or Chinese?

    As I said ... BULLSHIT ... !!!

Ask the thousands in prison about their freedom ...

The thousands that cant come back to NZ ... because of UNPAID fines (and student loans) ...

The thousands that cant travel overseas ... because of court (read drug) convictions ...

The thousands that cant drive (legally) because they've lost their licence ...

The thousands that cant get ANYTHING on HP because they owe $$$ somewhere ...

FREEDOMS that people take for granted ... as of right (???) ... untill they dont have them ...

FREEDOMS that come in all sizes and shapes ... and they ALL come with a price ...

If YOU dont pay ... somebody else WILL/HAS ...
