Altho the 1100 sport and the RS Daytona look the same they aint... the RS is a darker red, gunmetal engine, full floating discs and 10Hp more, which aint a lot in todays terms but when comparing a 1100 2v pushrod to a 1000 4v OHC (driving rockers via belt drive) wooo hooooo.

The 1100i sport is the same engine as the V11 but with just 5 gears. the sport leaps of the mark touching 90km in 1st, but after 5k on the rpm broadens off... were as the RS just comes alive.

Yeah the 2v will cick the 4v in the arse on launch but as soon as the RS hits 5k it has an awesome power band leaving the sport in its dust.
Thus the sport is a much beter all rounder and more usable over the RS... BUT fuck it.. I'd have the RS

Thing I'm not so fussed on the Daytona's and 1100i's (sorry Willie) is the tail fairing and mufflers don't look right where as the V11's both flow together nicely.
Put the V11 tail faring on them and they would be right.
    Just my opinion.

And you sure the RS is DOHC, DD? I though it was just a high cam in head with rockers to the 4Vs.

yeah opps, ill edit... the drive belt drives a single over head cam which inturn drives 2 over head rockers... a weird set up, but it works.

The more I ride the Norge, the more I like it.
It's one of those bikes that's weird at first but the appeal grows and grows on you.

I reckon one of these will replace the V11 Sport as my next bike.

    Someone misses his sport!
You forgot to add....and a "PhatGirl" with 41mm keihins & StealthTech addons will kick an RS right across the rev range!
...but damn those 4valve engines are sweet

The old mans asking if you have riden a Daytona RS... some what different to the Daytona's with the single seats, they are only 2hp up on a 1100 sport. Them carbs look the mutts nuts, I asume you dont have the 1/2 turn twist and dont know the Deloto wave?

    LOL, Gidday Vic

Yup tell ya Dad I have had the pleasure of riding a 93 1000 Daytona mmmmmm.
    AND a 97 1100 daytona RS mmmmmmmMMMMM.
LOVED them both...nearly bought the 93 daytona (single seat...missus...say no more...and I couldn't afford the 97 RS...damnit!....and it was cheap!)
Always wanted a guzzi sport or daytona, and VERY happy with the PhatGirl sitting in the work carpark...(Im "mean't" too be working lol).
The "2 fist screw" on the old delortos lol...bugger that! ...thats a BIG twist and some. - The FCR's are great! (except they love petrol a bit to much!) had to detune them for better running cost's tho.
Take care vic...and hide daddys keys for me....he LOVES hunting for keys.....especially on fine weekends lol

Hmmm,...me jealous of you guys riding the Daytonas !!!

Although Caleb's Daddy would LOVVVVVVVVVVVE to ride an MGS-01.
I could park one of those in my lounge just to stare at it. The most beautiful bike Moto Guzzi has ever made.
Where the hell were the street models though???

Still have the lovely Norge at the moment.
My V11 is proving to be quite a mission to get it's electrics solved.

The more I ride the "Black Battleship", the more I grow fond of it.
But If I had a choice of any Guzzi in at Scooterazzi, it would be the lovely green and tanned-seat Griso SE with those stunning wire-wheels.

Mark has concluded that it is definitely the reg/rectifier stuffed. The alternator stator was tested and after cleaning the surface rust off it was better than the new one !!
A couple of earth wires were really dodgy which he's repaired.
Now the REAL mission is getting a good reg/rectifier.

I do miss riding the red beasty as nice as the Norge is.

Oh yes the Griso does look nice with high pipes.
Def nicer in green than red !!!!

hmmm... are the spokes factory on the red?
The SE is like the Tenni... it represents the V8 ie matt green primer, wires and brown leather seat.
IMO tho, the SE should be like the Tenni the tank polished alloy.
