Well the winter was miserable, but I managed to qualify for the two Match Play tournaments, top qualifier for one and as a result won the Junior Handicap Division Stroke Play annual trophy.
On another hobby/interest, I have been playing an acoustic guitar, well fumbling for two years or so and enjoying it. After looking at electric guitars for a few weeks, I took the plunge, well a wee splash and purchased an Ibanez IJX Startup Pack, and I am very pleased, very pleased with the new guitar. Now I am splitting my time across both practising my pentatonic and blues pentatonics, as well as cramming a lot of the theory in Triad structures and harmonizing majors, minors and sevenths. With the headphones on and playing some wonderful tunes the electric guitar has just added another dimension. Bit like stepping up from a 250cc to your next bike, speaking of which.......
I had two bikes on my watchlist, both 650's and believe you me I was tempted, very tempted. [Ah hum still am tempted.]
Good to hear from all of you that have posted up, sorry it has taken me a wee while to post up here in reply.

Moons ago my brother-in-law and I would stand around on a Sunday evening, steak on the barbie, beer in hand, and he would talk a whole lot of crap about bikes that I wouldn't understand. He not long bought a new 2004, Z750 back then, but his first road bike after some 20 plus years of not riding and previously it was trials riding etc. My oh my how times have changed.
Last night I enjoyed the Wellington Tuesday evening ride, the first of the 2010/2011 daylight saving period on a....wait for it...2004, Z750 and enjoyed the ride enormously. Six years old and only 29k km on the clock. He looks after it incredibly, and it is my intention not to let him down in looking after it when I take it for a ride once [or twice] a week. Thanks mate.

Welcome back Guy!
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
