Well i just found out how far you can get with the fuel tap off..........

    about 10km.

Bike felt a bit weird and died when I pulled over. Remembered I hadnt turned the fuel on...........turned it back on......crank...........battery died after trying to start a few times......

Thanks to Random guy who heard me coming, came outside and gave me a push start!!!!!!!!!! LEGEND.

So thats a bunch of learning on my first night. Cant wait to go out tomorrow!

Gah! Feel free to flick me a text if you're ever stuck mate. As I said, I'm only round the corner.

Bring the bike past in the next couple of days or on Saturday and I'll load test the battery for you. Should last longer than a few cranks to start. If it's buggered I'll throw a new one at it.

On a positive note, 10 kay on the float bowls is pretty good milage

What he said mate. Check that the fuel's been turned to "on" and not "res" otherwise you'll be fucked when it strts to run out.

You can't ask for better service than that mate. Despite being a pillow biter, Jimmy is ok.

    Bike Gear.

Well. I'm a beginner biker myself that started back in December of 2010. I ride a 2006 Hyosung GT250 Comet and I swear by it.

In terms of gear, you can trawl the internet on sites like Trademe or I paid me a visit to Motorad on Vivian St and they had a deal where you pay in total $1000 for Macna jacket, pants and gloves, with Sidi boots and a helmet. You might want to check them out. I'm not sure if that deal is still on.

Good luck with your bike hunt bro. See you on the road.

Never EVER buy gear off Trademe unless you've tried it on!

Well finally the weather and my spare time were in alignment.

I had a couple of hours of riding this afternoon with my mate.

Rode the new subdivision down alexander road.
Rode the CIT carpark for some slow maneuvering.
Rode Wally hill and across whitemans/mangaroa and out to Te Marua.

Had so much fun in the valley, i had to go back and do it again on the way home.

I thought about trying, but naaaaaaaaa.

I did beat the pants off my mates bandit whenever he tried to pull away, do I get points for that?

    Finally took some pics too.

Right, so a few more mods done to the Hornet this week.

    New Clutch Cable
    Titax Adjustable Levers
    Oxford Hot Grips
    Cleaned the chain

Pretty happy with all so far. Frame sliders on the way from UK and Scott Oiler will be soon as well.

Look mate, the question everyone wants the answer to is as follows.

"What's faster to 100 kays, the Hornet or the Evo?"

    Don't sweat the small stuff......

(BTW, lube that chain after you've cleaned it)

All depends on the launch I reckon. straight line speed is pretty similar. But evo will smash anything through some corners I reckon.

The Hornet is probably more rewarding to ride fast though. As theres no electronics sorting out your stuff ups.

Chain is lubed too. Only lightly though.
