Yep, it's that building between Tiniroto Road and School Road. Didn't go in, just stopped to take some photos as there's a really pretty lake just down the road.

Like Mr Blackbird says, the Galatea - Matahina stretch can be a touch slippery this time of year. No reason to avoid it just allow time to do it at a leisurely pace. Probably applies to the Ngakuru - Waiotapu leg, and definately the Waioeka too.

Matahina - Opotiki I'd do the Taneatua road (turn right just after the Shell shop at Awakeri) unless you are particularly keen on going through Ohope.
Waioeka Gorge was in good condition when I did it a month ago, couple of storms have been through since then though.

Waikaremoana to Gisborne every few weeks for a couple of years we used regularly to go via Tiniroto for a change of scenery. One of those ones that you forget about until someone mentions it, haven't done it now for the better part of 20 years. Must go back.

    When are you going?

Close. They 'share' them with the locals...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

And the dogs get a load of crutchings to roll in.
    Everyone wins.
Well...except for the sheep, that is.

2 headed lamb just above the door. When you go in, turn around and look up.

I did it in April (re-running the 2010 GC) and it was in a lot better condition than I remembered from my first trip through many moons ago. On that occasion there was every form of four legged critter that inhabits this land wandering all over the place. Only counted 1 dog and 1 goat last time around...

The road is tight in a few places and the surface can be less than perfect in places (probably a lot potential for slips this time of the year) but it is a nice ride. Ride on

Cutting through to Patutahi saves you time & brings you directly onto Tiniroto Rd, last went through at xmas roads where in good nick but as mentioned there has been some really yucky weather since. As long as you fill up on gas in Opotiki you should get to Wairoa via Patutahi otherwise I think there is still a gas station by the Tiniroto/coastal rd turnoff OR fill up in Gisborne
I Used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass
