It could be the wet making (part of) the difference too. He's not shabby in the wet and was fairly close to the pace at Jerez, until the Stoner incident anyway. Be hard to say how much difference the mods to the bike have made until we see a dry race. Should be a hell of an interesting round!

when the grip is low there aint the forces feeding into the frame and suspension to show up the problems

Quick Skunk, get over there, they need your expertise to clean up the oil on the track!!

Allow me to introduce Elena Rosell.
Hmmm, crash (possibly in the oil??) and 11 sec off pace.

    Hope she can bounce back.

It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

First (and only) practice session in extremely shitty conditions is a far from conclusive look at what's what.

Speaking of which, I love this:
... when asked by reporters what parts from the GP11 were used for the GP11.1, Ducati team boss (and head of the test team) Vito Guareschi reeled off a very short list: "The wheels, the brakes and the front forks."

Today is full of funny quotes... Simoncelli on Rossi:
... And what about this controversy that the Ducati is more a 1000 than an 800?
