On ya mate. I've never smoked so don't appreciate how hard it would be to give up. I've always hated the stink of it. Even when I'm following a car and the drivers window is down I get the stink... So I reckon I've got evidence to prove it's bad for my health to stay behind cars!!!

Has been 6 weeks for me after 25 years of slavery. It's great to be able to go for a walk or something and not panic because there are only a couple of smokes left in the packet and it might be an hour before I get to a shop.
Like the others have said, just don't have another ciggie and you'll be fine. I think.

Decided Queens Birthday weekend to stop, two hard days withdrawl cold turkey then nuthing.
Feel so much better for it, and Im fucked If i wanted to continue going outside in winter to freeze my balls off just to feed a habit that was killing me.
Bonus is, I can now afford a tank of gass a week in the XS

    Well done all.

I stopped 3 years ago, one of the hardest things I've ever done. And you're right, trying to stop doesn't work, seeing yourself as a non smoker works.

Only downside is; I'd love a cigar, from time to time. But I can't have one, I'm non smoker.

Well done Mr Chef and everyone else. This year is my 10th anniversary and although I may still get the occasional pang I've never regretted giving up. + so far I have saved several trillion dollars by not smoking. Has anyone seen it?

To take an idea from a book I read, it's just the little nicotine monster inside you screaming and writhing because he's starving to death. He's going through more pain than you are. From now on the only way you'll ever be worse off than him is if you start smoking again.

You just need to smile and think "take that, you fucking little fucker".

Over time he'll become weaker and weaker until he fades away.

Just don't have another ciggie or you'll end up right back at square one.

    Good luck

NO you dont need luck, you just need to be surprised you feel like a smoke, because you dont smoke. You only have to say no to one smoke at a time, real easy.

And for that matter, you never hear a first time smoker say "Wow that tastes great! I want another"

...I guess thats true Mark, I remember coughing my ring out on a Mild 10 cigarette as a kid....still thought it was the coolest thing though.
I wised up some some years later.
