    Here we go: armour, bike...

    Helmet Check
    Gloves Check
    Boots Check
    Jacket Check
    Pants Check

    Bike - No check yet
Armour - No check yet. After my last accident, I feel I am in need of some armour...The stuff that is usually listed on trade me, is this work checking out?

The less you spend on it, the less likely you will lose money when you sell it.
    Aim for sub $1k GN250, CB250, SR250.....
Or. Even consider the older 2 stroke 100/125's?

But I could have misunderstood your post.....

And Armour. Looks like you have a fairly comprehensive bag of gear already....leg/kneee and back armour you may be thinking about? Yeah, its nice. But is it a showstopper?

Not a show stopper my friend. A few years back I managed to total my bike and cause some damage, nerve and otherwise, so I am looking for back armour particularly. Will not succumb to the the dreaded GN250, the others though, I might be interested

Ahhh fair call. Yeah - im particularly fussy about gloves...damaged a hand in a crash years ago. Cannot risk more damage.
Ok. The back protectors - theres a few good threads in the last month or so on these forums. I recently paid $150 for a MX style one from cycletreads - its fine for road use. Peace of mind. They had better/nicer ones, but I was broke and in a rush.
Leggings - am seeing lots of second hand leather trou for $100 to $150, with knee protection, and in very good condition. On trademe.

Yamaha Scorpios are underrated IMO. Good ones are going for around, or just under, 2k.

Thanks for the advice my friend, will look at those bikes. Loved the lobster claw gloves when I was riding.

Mate, I'm delighted to see you thinking about bikes again.

    I'm looking too.

I need armour as well. 10 broken ribs is no fun.

I like the idea of the chest protection as well and it isn't designed for race use or so bloody expensive you need a 3rd mortgage to buy it.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

That is brilliant as that is the one I was thinking off as well. As I am in Foxton tomorrow picking up the rest of the gear, I will tale a look in this store. Thank you for reminding me... It certainly does look worth the look, Can fully sympathise with the broken ribs!!!

Pull your pants up over the bottom of the back protector.

    Notice the hard front shell.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

The problem with that is finding a leather jacket with no arm and shoulder armour or finding one with removable arm and shoulder armour. Not as easy as it sounds without going to some piece of stylistic fluff styled to look like something 30-40 years old.
