Red face Norf Welly prospect goes down, but comes first at Roy's Hill

For many years I have been avoiding a bucket infection by deriding bucket racing as dangerous and populated by the slightly mad. Turns out I was right, but I forgot to mention the huge fun and the friendliness.
Henk and Dutchee have previously been very generous in allowing Girrl Racer to use one of their bikes to compete on. For this round at Roy's Hill they offered me a ride (Thanks Craig). I have been missing racing real bad so quickly said yes.
Being my first go at bucket racing proper I really had no idea where I would fit in so jumped into B-grade for a low stress start. The practices on Saturday and Sunday went well and I was very comfortable on FXR 26.
So, Race one on a beautiful HB day saw me getting an average start but finding my pace early on. I followed Brock (203) into the hairpin on lap one and he must have missed a gear on the exit, so I was left with the choice of giving him an FXR enema or try the front brake. I still think I made the right decision, but Hel's may disagree. Down I went and Hel's hit my rear wheel instead of me. After a red flag we made the restart and I think I managed a third, after getting wasted by the young fulla on the midsized pocket bike.
Race 2 I decided to be more aggressive at the start, closed the door on bike 42(?) in turn one and rode as smooth as I could for the win.
Race 3 was more problematic as I struggled with the necessity to block pass when the speed differential is so small. A bit of dicing with 42 and 9 (while the pocket bike left us all behind) but I didn't want to be mean or bend Craig's bike. In the end the race was flagged due to Hel's finding her Mojo and writing a cheque she couldn't cash.
Thanks again to the West Auck's Chapter, the PMCC crew for a great event with plenty laughs, and Jason and Tyler for your generosity to Girrl Racer.
Now somebody buy my Aprilia so I can get some buckets.

Is that how you broke your arse Hels?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Nup. She did that one all by herself. (She's really special, don'cha'no).
Aint no-one was gonna volunteer to kiss her boo-boo all better, either....

    How you doing, young record-setter?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Aha.ha.haha....ha, now I remember. Just before I went out for race 3, I got some advice and tips on how to ride from a certain flaggy on turn 7, something about black stuff down and orange side up?? can't really recall all the details....

Indeed, it was that bloody Rangi that gave me my first dose of BTD (Bucket Transmitted Disease). Thanks for that Trudes. I would let Rangi give me that special massage of his any-time.
