    m'K here ya go...

    Old Tag:
    Boyds Muttersickles, Te Rapa Road.

    New Tag:
    Go west of the Waipa
    Then turn south
    The name of the reserve
    Will strain your mouth

    Tis quite a nice ride
If you don't act the yahoo
    West from the village
    They call Te _ _ _ _...

Yeah, I know, straining the rhyme a bit there... Nice ride though - despite the fact that there's shit all over the road in parts...

    The old and the new.

An interesting alternative ride to Kawhia for the adventurous. A 10k sealed winding hill climb from the turnoff. You can return the same way, or be a 'real' man and go left for 10k's to come out on the Kawhia rd, or straight ahead to arrive in Oparau.

They must have sealed some of that road since I was last along there. Used to be a rutted goat track with gravel the size of boulders...

Edit: I was thinking of the other end of the road. This end is pretty cool...like you say, awa, nice ride up there. Some good lockout points as well.

    Nice tag! Well done.

Another Nikau tag, also near some caves. I recommend the Surveyor's Cottage Pinot Noir
