I go past this one at least twice a day, few hundred metres from my flat, will roll the bike out during the week if I get a chance during daylight.

You can get a motorbike up where the pushbike is easily enough but its a bit muddy. If your scared of mud then get as close as you can lol.

Also must have had a pretty bad crash, the fairings have been obliterated.

Its an anti theft idea Im trying out, I carry them with me when I get off the bike.

Who would want to steal a bike without an engine or fairings? No one. So far its worked well.

What's with the digger in the mudhole, did it get buggered in the earthquake(s)?

I believe the digger is fixing a small lake/large pond but Im not sure.

Just for clarity, the digger isnt the tag, the lake is. The digger may not always be there.

You guys shouldnt need any clues for this one. There are plenty in the photo.

How many parks are in and about the place, with a small lake in that possibly suffered earthquake damage and needed to be drained and dug out?

Also Im lazy and was on my pushbike so theres no way its very far from the last tag.

That lake is a man made one, built in the late 1800's, and had a clay base to keep the water in it. The Sept quake broke the base and rooted the banks, and the water drained out of it, I would guess the Feb quake did more damage. Now it's being dug out to be fixed. I would have thought there were higher priorities right now, but there you go.

Hopefully I've given you a bit of history without giving away any clues - that's not my job this time.

To be fair, there is one digger on the job and not much else. I dont think its a high priority. Its not like the Christchurch Model Yacht Club cant go somewhere else once a week.
