the point is, football hooligans don't riot over the result of the football match, they just riot for the fun of it.
There are plenty of dropkicks in the UK looking for an excuse to fight, thats my point!
you said yourself they don't know what they are doing it for, they are doing it as a result of something? that something being the fact they love to have a fight for the sake/fun of it!
Its a sad situation, and one that will be dispersed with more force than they will be expecting!

These are just some of the symptoms of the sick society the boomers have left for us. These yobbos don't know what they are are doing it for I'm sure, but they are doing it as a result of something; some shared life sequence of events; some sort of societal pressures and problems. Don't just say it's for no reason.
What a load of shite, I left school during the 90´s recession in the UK and struggled to find someone to take me on as an apprentice. I took a pay cut from stacking shelves in a supermarket and only got the job because my parents encouraged me to write begging letters to all businesses in the area.

They should swap out these homegrown spoilt western brats for hard working immigrants, send them to some genuine shit holes where they will feel at home

Obviously these dozy tarts have a clear idea of their grievances..."It's the governments fault, conservatives of whatever who it is, I dunno"

Yeah, real good reasons to smash, burn and steal.

A young guy who's obviously been beaten up sits on the ground with blood coming out of his face. Some yob's help him up and then nick whatevers in his bag! Obviously they have a big problem with the economy/government/whateva!

Let me get this right. There are people here who are defending the actions of the 'looters'? Correct me if I'm wrong.

But if you are defending them, how would you feel as they approached your home with your family in it?

Yeah BUT, if you listen to the girls speak, they're just blind followers, I realise that's just a minority example amplified as always by media (well, you'd want to hope so!)
What I don't understand is, why terrorise or target families and mostly small neighbourhood businesses, destroying their own environments, rather than targeting the "system" if that truly is a root cause?

I'm sure there's a myriad of reasons for unrest, but when you compare this to the egyptian uprising, this really looks like a bunch of opportunistic and bored brats exploiting the young chaps shooting, that need a good kick up the arse.

No I don't think anyone is defending or approving of the actions of these yobs, but these are just symptoms of problems that society has created.

Why does it always have to be just for or against? Isn't that too simple? I don't think it should just be about taking sides. You could just sit on your high horse and condemn everything all you want, but if people tried to understand more why our society breeds this behavior then possibly it could be prevented in the future.

The rioting has given me a horrendous sense of De ja vu. I lived 100mtrs away from this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadwater_Farm_riot

I slept through it, consequences of being a chef working 16 hours a day 6 days a week. I walked out of the house into Beirut, armoured Land Rovers, mobs of full riot gear SPG officers & the locals running around with tellys & microwaves.
    It was f%^&*($g terrifying.

...if only they realised that the system they hate so much can/could be changed by being aware, proactive and voting...thought I was a bit of an anarchist myself once, many many years ago....'til I went and lived in other climes and saw for myself how unaware and pampered and free I was....very easy to be altruistic and know it all from where we are looking from...

....and like some have alluded to...whats changed over the centuries...5/8s of FA
