It's the Nikau Cafe on Waikaretu Valley Road - a road I'd not ridden before.
I can't vouch for the food nor the coffee since the queue was so long I abandoned the wait and pushed on to Tuakau. The place itself, on a sunny day like yesterday, was idyllic. I will most definitely ride there again.
Interesting experience on the way home. Heading south from Ngaruawahia to Whatawhata via SH39. Just out of town there's quite a tight right hander. As I approach I see three bikes coming the other way - quite quickly - into the corner. Which set off the warning bell - it's not the best laid out corner in the world. Sure enough, squid No 1 in the lead over estimates his ability and runs wide - crossing the centre line. Which I kinda expected. He was lucky I wasn't his equivalent coming the other way...
That'd be a right pain in the arse, eh - getting taken out by a loon on the way home after safely negotiating 300km of twisty roads.![]()

For those interested the latest Bike Rider magazine has a feature on the new doco-film just released on the TT race. Its filmed in 3D and released into theatres starting 25th August. Might be worth having a looksee. Will see if anyone interested on Wednesday night and maybe plan a time and date. Hopefully its on for a wee while???

From what I understand (and on occasion I have been wrong) Hamilton Honda has booked The Base theatre for the one off showing in Hamilton. I rang them and it was already sold out. they weren't planning on any more screenings
Unless the theatre itself picks up the movie for general screening
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....
I hope you are wrong, I wanted to go and see it on Thursday night.
Yep going Thursday, you had to be quick to get a ticket through Waik Honda.
I have heard that it is screening for only 3 days this week, Hoyts should know.
What a load of shit.
This is all I can find about it on the Hoyts website (Te Awa Cinemas at The Base)
http://www.hoyts.co.nz/Movies/Detail...Edge.aspx?cs=1
Notice no presales or session times avaliable at all.![]()

Looks like the Hoyts site has been updated if you click on movies then coming soon, choose the TT movie "more info" and "buy tickets" then choose the Te Awa - Hamilton option and the movies scheduled times come up. Me and Sorrelboy are looking at going to the 6.45 screening on Monday August 29th - He's booking them so fingers crossed it all works!!
UPDATE - Sorrelboy just txted and all booked - Go for it guys (and gals)
