It was a mega weekend, except for a good few crashes which the last one knocked me out four hours into the race … bugger. Oh well, a few beers soon softend the blow, good laugh though, I’ve still got a lot to learn.

They mentioned Paul quite a bit. That helped to bring home to the audience that these guys know the risks. Same when John McGuiness (I think??) was reeling off the names of his mates that were racers and had died.

One thing I must say though, is Bridget Dobbs rocks. What a great chick.

Tis done, seen it & was suitably impressed. Cleverly produced, even though I know exactly what happened last year & seen a fair bit of footage already the last hour or so of the movie, the practice & racing had me riveted. I felt stunned when I left the cinema. One race is about the same as a nice day out for me in distance......

"the front started to go & I thought I've got it, I've got it, uh, naa, no I have'nt" at 170mph?

Mr Martin is a bit different even for a road racer. Was impressed with Hutchinson, he has oil in his blood. Been at the island for 3 years & won 5 races?

After seeing that I'm convinced the safest thing for Hutchy to do is racing. He's an absolute, total boy-racer-wanker on the road. If he didn't go racing he would've ended up buried in the nose of a car or something.

Must have plenty of $$$$$$, I think that was a CBR 900 RR he was hooning on. At that age the insurance would be double the value of the bike.

I'd be surprised if the bikes they were on were remotely road legal.

Fantastic movie, loved Guy, wanted the movie to keep going. Knew Dobbo was going to appear sooner or later, they did that reasonably well.

I have to say though, balls of steel.

I wonder if that film does more damage than good for some part of the population. After all, Connor Cummins sitting in hospital talking about how he won't fuck up on the Verandah next year, Hutchy refusing to let the surgeons leave him with anything less than 100% in his foot because he won't be able to race with anything less, Bridget Dobbs saying Paul died having fun and that's what lifes about, Guy Martin setting the scenery on fire on the same corner that claimed Paul Dobbs the day before ....... those things will absolutely convince some people that motorcyclists are not normal/human.

But then we already know motorcyclists aren't your average, normal pleb unk:

You've been there Shaun. What did you think of the movie? Have they captured the rider's true spirit properly?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
