One thing I did after this was cut it off again and then turn it into a straight through muffler. This mean getting a hammer and a bit of wood and smashing out the 'box' type muffler thing inside the muffler. I then used this steel mesh stuff, rolled it into a cylinder, put it in the middle of the muffler with pink bats as packing, and welded the ends up again. It made it louder (which wasn't the purpose) and made the muffler far less restrictive for exhaust flow. Power wise, I dunno maybe it did something. Pretty hard to tell the difference between 12hp and 13hp really haha. I use a different muffler now because the stock one doesn't fit on my new frame.

I'll try and put an updated list together before the next meet based on results from the last two or three seasons. No gaurantees though, people hve been known to pop out of the woodwork after long breaks.

Have you tried the old exhaust after putting the new one on?
If not, I'd say it's unrelated to the exhaust.
Did you do the welding on the bike or off the bike?

Silly question, but can you blow through the new exhaust? to check if its blocked, a rag left inside perhaps, it has happened before.

yup its all clear and fine the only thing i can think of is that with the new muffler the two end caps in it are only riveted on not weilded along the seam, would this stop enough back pressure from happeing?.
is anyoner around the papatoetoe area or close ish that i could bring it around to have a look at as im really just plucking it all as im not to it in this area.and the 17th is getting closer
