    Red face Acupunture

I recently slipped in the kitchen just Tuesday gone and have sprained my ankle and done something to my knee and lower back.

I went to the chiropractor today and had acupuncture which i've have had done before when i've had a sore back before.I find it works mind you I don't mind needles a tall and am able to have it done.

I was just curious how many other people on here have acupuncture to and find it helps too.

I have benefited greatly from acupuncture, however it is one of those things that not all people "believe in it".
I have ongoing issues with my knee gathering fluid and swelling up. Acupuncture, along with massaging and excercising fixes the problem almost immediately. Without acupuncture the swelling and nerve pain never goes away. I have recurring issues right now actually and you have reminded me that I need to make an appoitment!

When I was a youngun and covered (head to toe) in eczma I was taken to an acupuncturist who assisted with reducing the stress and itchiness of the eczma - I don't believe it "healed it" just lessened the symptoms.

You need to find a good acupuncturist though a bad one will fuck you up.

I had acupuncture for a badly stubbed toe some years ago but in truth I couldn't say if it helped at all or if the toe just healed naturally by itself over the course of the treatment.

Same with a later visit to a Chiropractor for a shoulder injury. I honestly couldn't say if the extra money spent achieved anything at all.

Hell yeah it helps!!! I did myself an injury playing badminton - "tennis elbow" and no amount of physio/massage was helping. It was recommended I visit a local acupuncturist and after four sessions I had my strength back, no pain, and was back on the court.

Mine was good...but boy did he fuck with me on the first session. Anyone else get a high from the cigar looking thingie they use to heat the needles? And what the fuck has my feet got to do with my elbow!!?

Yeah, I didn't realise how daft that sounds but believe me... It was pretty fucked up for weeks!

I recently had accupuncture on a strained back muscle at the local physio. When I asked how it works she explained it was like reinjuring the muscle in a small way to excite the healing process around the injured area. Fair enough!

that would make sense if it wasn't for stuff like stirts post where the acupuncture was done on the foot for an elbow injury. I understood the acupuncture is based on nerves (or energy flow) and not on the muscle itself

Thats great, but a Chiro is an Osteo with an extra year (at least) of training. I'll stick with the Chiro.

Oh, no wait, I did have needles in my arm. Freak boy just started rubbing my feet and going on about the "energy flow". I had an energy flow alright, gave me such a hell of a fright that I had to use all that "energy flow" to stop myself from kicking him in the nuts.

he must have a foot fetish. Shouldn't joke that would not be funny if true. Console your self with the ides that the whole of the body is meant to be represented in the sole of the foot, now which parts did he pay special attention to?? (sorry could be helped)

No, he was a Dr. Emmett Brown look-a-like and was as harmless as a harmless thing. Just a little on the weird side.
