No I think you are missing our point. We are not expert film producers, directors and cameramen, so don't challenge us to do better. That was their job.

It is a great movie. But a made for worldwide cinema release movie such as this is made by professionals in the field of movie making. The quality of photography came up short for an event that deserved better.

I took most of my family to see it. We loved the film, all of us.

Saw the film here in the UK on Good Friday, absolutely brilliant, and Guy is a Legend, hopefully he will get his first TT win in 2012.

I thought that too, till the penny dropped. I'm sure they used this clip to illustrate how often the bike changed it's angle vertically, one second balls to the wall then same deal but front wheel airborne.
Poetic licence I think they call it, no'one in their right mind would've picked this shot for any other reason

Having been to the TT three times, I thought this was a great film, and if you go just because you want to see a couple of hours of on bike footage then you are going to be disappointed, you want that by one of the Duke On bike TT DVD's, you'll be happier.

What this film did do was illustrate the nature of obsession in this case competing in or winning a TT race, despite all the racers being fully aware of the possible outcome. When you have the likes of John McGuinness basically saying he makes sure that there are no jobs needing his attention at home (including mowing the lawn) just in case he doesn't come back, you begin to understand how it takes over there entire life, either competing or thinking about competing. All of the racers come across really well, the decision to follow Guy Martin in particular was great. A film that was inspiring, made me laugh and when talking to Paul Dobb's wife Bridget and his mate who was the bike 10 seconds behind bought a lump to my throat.

The biggest shame is this will not reach a wider audience because people will think its a bikers movie and therefore it's not for them and it deserves the widest possible audience, a film that is in essence a series of talking heads works brilliantly, I can see why it's getting 5* reviews.

    My thought Too
I loved it , I will buy it and make the wife watch it so she can see how we get so obsessed over these 2 wheeled thing,
Having been there in 2000 i didn't need to see a hole lap, that's what you buy a duke video for. it was more to see what sort of people are their for me.
3D was ok as well , more a gimmick

As above, the best part about the movie is it gives you an understanding of the obsession.

I dragged the gf out and watched the Ayrton Senna movie in the weekend, and that was fantastic too.

The low camera angle was a slight annoyance but I assumed that was done to maximise the 3D effect of the road rushing toward the camera.

Some years ago films made originally for 3D were redone to be shown on TV. I read that you could tell when you were watching one of these films, people kept throwing things at the camera.

The low camera angle achieved a similar result.

I guess if I want to do a lap of the Island I'll have to watch the 2003 coverage of Shaun's lap. Again!

An excellent movie but probably one that the general public will not be rushing out to see.
Did not mind the opening sequence and it stems fron the title of the movie painted on the ground. Excellent sounds and musical soundtrack as well.

People had trouble hearing/understanding what Guy was saying??

Deserved of the accolades and reviews and will certainly become a classic in a niche/cult way.

Nah, that's horrible. It doesn't give a sense of riding a bike at all.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

More than the opening sequence did unless you normally look down at the ground at those speeds.

I think the opening scene was to illustrate the times that the front end came up and back down to earth and how wild that it really is?

Well it's always looked like that to me on the track. Chin on the tank ,vision bisected by the helmet aperture.
