    Please don't buy my Transalp

My beloved Transalp project is for sale . Unfortunately my credit card and overdraft are getting hungry so here she is.

I think this is the best bike I've owned - just does everything so well and hassle free. Since buying I've added heated grips, a slightly taller screen, serrated pegs, soft pannier racks, flexible indicators on the back (off 600 Tranny), and a ventura rack. It's had one previous owner who used it with his wife on the back to ride everything that passed as a road in NZ. It's been well looked after mechanically but carries a few adventure scars (just scratches not dings). I have a new T63 for the rear which I was going to put on shortly. It comes with the bike unless the new owner doesn't want in which case I will keep. It has a Scott Oiler and a 12v output under the seat for charging etc.

I've documented its history here on KB. Lots of pictures there.

You'll have to try really hard to talk me into letting it go so no offers. And if no-one buys it I'll be relieved.Click image for larger version.

    Nearly ready to sell...

Okay I'm nearly emotionally ready to part with her .

Anyone want to give me money is welcome or I would swap for a nice respectable touring bike - preferably with a shaft and two cylinders but will consider four cylinder things also (especially starting with letters FJR or ST).

Needs a nice flat seat for the Mrs as she doesn't like sitting up too high. Also panniers but not jumbo-jet wide. Also not too tall as in Varadero or VStrom styles as my legs aren't the long sort. Lower value than the Transalp preferable so I get some money out of it to justify changing to the Mrs, but a direct swap is also on the cards .

Needs to be reliable and comfy etc...

I have a pair of donkeys. Very stubborn but reliable at best of times. Cheap on fuel, just park them on a grass for the night, and ready for the next days touring. I will throw in a set of soft saddle throw overs for the luggage as well. Oh, and did I say they are stubborn and take bit of effort to get going on the cold mornings?

Deal of the century i reckon. Ewan and Charley, eat your hearts out

Not familiar with the brand, must be something out of the Harley Davidson factory I'm assuming. Please send some dyno charts and I'll get back to you.

I've got the Transalp up on Trademe.

Anyone interested pm me or email clive@auditassistant.com.

She's seriously tidy and seriously for sale or swap.

Looking for a lazy tourer with endless torque, lower seat and lockup boxes.

Just did a trip to Wellington over the week - did a short excursion up a track off the Desert Road - this is the kind of thing the Transalp loves. It's a great all-rounder, can cruise at 120 still with plenty of go to overtake, but still do excellently in all types of offroad situations.

Unfortunately I do so little adventure riding it's wasted on me. I'm very keen to sell but not giving it away - a couple of shops have offered me $6000 on a trade, so if you offer me more than that we both win. Willing to send it or deliver throughout the country by negotiation.

Looking like I may have a buyer at $6k - anyone offering over $6000 be in if interested or I'll let it go.

It's being wasted just doing long distance touring on it. It is a great bike. I could put road tyres and a high screen and hard panniers and top box but that would cost quite a bit and it would still be taller than I need. I can get an older ST1100 or R1100RT for around $6000 that will do exactly what I want. For example
