Time to ride
I'll wait until the list of required photos is published, then start planning. I believe I can get there and return to Bluff in less than 3 hours, and that is more than 1500 points per hour, so could be worth doing. More research is needed.
Time to ride
I've been on that ferry before... first and last time I've been seasick so I wouldn't even consider using the boat for sleeping...
Going round the South Island does hold a nice ring to it... but again, gotta wait until this weekend to see the specifics... Friday start is pretty much a given...

I agree launching from Auckland adds another dimension to the trip, i will be throwing the steppie in the back of the car and starting from ChCh.
Even riding the Busa back to Blenheim after the TT was hard work, kudos to those that had to travel from the north.
Bring it on.....
I was told to do a return trip to SI on the Ferry for my opinion.....I was told to pick a rough day......I did....almost
Air fare is about $250 I think....question is...the best flight seems to touch down, reload and leave immediately....would you get to Masons and back in time?...not that I am considering this![]()
Hi everyone, Whatastoner here. After much study of the flyer map, a route around the southern half of the island is the best option. Although reaching diamond may require a trip overseas. It all depends on what time of day one gets down to Slope Point, Invercargill area. Do the helicopters fly in the evening? I doubt it. And at $260 one way. So back to the map my friends.
