Quite true - but tailgating someone in a heavy vehicle, because they weren't driving at a speed you preffered, doesn't make it their fault. Entirely your fault, if you can't deal with that, find another job.

I'm new to the forum and would love to know what ChanceBmx did to earn the ire of a large percentage of kb.

I don't drive for a living only have me learners.
But I do own a diesel which takes the length of a large city to get upto speed, so when I'm stuck behind someone doing 60-85km/h in the 100km/h zone I do understand the frustration (& these guys would hit it constantly nowadays).
It used to be long line off traffic truck up front & that was the reason (legal restrictions).
Nowadays long line of traffic truck up front, you can almost guarantee everytime there'll now be a wanker in a car holding that truck & everyone else up, going slower than the trucks limited speed limit, impeding the flow of traffic but fucked if they're ever pulled up on it.

And to claim that it's the person's fault in front of the truck for being tailgated is a bit shortsighted in my humble opinion.

This situation feels like it happens on almost every trip I take these days, I get frustrated too. But at the end of the day they're trying to get from A to B, just like you, better to be 15 minutes late than in an accident. No matter how retarted/thoughtless the driver in front is, you always have the option of pulling back a bit further, and letting them crash all on their own (that way you get to say "I knew he would, stupid idiot" to the cop instead of "It was his fault, he was driving too slow")

I'm sure we can all understand the poor misunderstood driver. I mean, 2-3m is heaps, as I'm sure there was plenty of room in front of the biker as well (after he'd got him out the way).

Oh wait, no, I don't understand him... Maori can't take over with such a minority... it's more likely the asians will get them first (and wouldn't that be fun watching)

Trucks are already limited too slow & to be stuck behind someone slower almost constantly day-in day-out, you should be able to see how especially towards the end of their shift they could start letting road-rage settle in, not saying its right just saying it happens.

I might have been a bit blunt with me point but all I was saying is the cops need to target the car upfront, deal with the cause of the problem not the symptom.
Slow traffic is dangerous to all, either directly as they can't drive or indirectly through road rage. If we really cared about road safety these would be the people targeted NOT speed scams!

As for trucks tailgating - as soon as my girls finished Uni I stopped driving the car into work as a; it didnt stack up for 1 financially and b; it got be away from a certain transport operator that took delight in driving like a complete arse. Distinctive gold coloured prime movers, regularly tailgating and overtaking at 110 plus in ridiculous places. Frankly I was glad to be off the road. And in 99% of the cases with this crew there was NO excuse, they were just delighting in being cunts....

Stopped a car near Levin for tailgating a motorbike
The car driver admitted to following the bike at about 2-3mtrs at 80kph on a very wet road. Apparently, according to the driver, the bike should have got out of his way even though the bike was being held up by other cars who were driving to the conditions
That's when it all turned ugly with the driver telling me I would be made redundant when Maori took over in two years time and he would insure I was to be one of their slaves
It got even uglier later on finishing with a bloody lot of paperwork
To the fella on the red Yamaha 225 Scorpio between Otaki and Levin last Tuesday, good stuff and glad I could get this clown off your back tyre

Well done. One could presume as the rider was only on a 225 they were overly experienced as well.
I do find some car drivers do have an expectation that riders will split or pass and because they have no idea they expect it regardless of weather or traffic. The they complain when we do take advantage of the bikes smaller size in good conditions, you just can't win

Great Job Berg!, you can be sure that Bike rider was really appreciative of your actions ...its one of the most unsettling things on a bike...having a car wedged up your arse!....and more so in wet conditions!!

Sure they run to a schedule, so do pilots. You don't see pilots taking unnecessary risks without severe punishment.
