    So it has the correct engine number to be an M62B44?

    I myself have never seen a M60B40 engined E39, but, it is possible.

    if i was looking for a cheap hack i would probably buy it but currently have 6 cars so cant really justify another

    You've just confirmed what I always thought. Triumph owners aren't running on all cylinders...

    I've always suspected the Speed Triple is actually a four cylinder
    You only need two tools in life:
    Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't.
    WD-40 if it doesn't move and it should.

    Intake, Compression, Misfire, Exhaust, Intake, Compression, Ignition, Exhaust...
