    Mixing tyre brands?

Does it matter if your rear tire is not the same brand/model as the front tire? My rear tire has recently become flat and I had my front replaced while getting wof 2 months ago. They put a continental on the front, however I have done some research since then and would like to get a Michelin pilot power 2 ct for the rear and match the front up whenever it wears down. Are there any dangers with doing this?

The Tyres are designed to work in pairs, Profile matching is important for smooth cornering, Water pumping is designed to work together also.

Not a big deal, but not an ideal deal.

    p.s I dont do it
Ive run out of fucks to give

What's the front conti? I ask as you really want a nice sticky front to match the Power rear like a Conti Sport Attack. Me - I always do a matching pair. Many do not and have success.

Plus consider the standard Power not the 2 compound one unless you are racing and save a buck - the 2C tyre only has the extra soft compound on the outside 10% of the tyre - unless you are thrashing a powerful bike on the track the standard Powers are a excellent sticky tyre that would suit your Kawa well.

Search KB for Pilot Power as well as one of the members has been doing very good deals on a set of them - you can always sell you conti front on trademe.

I ran a BT 021 front with a Conti road attack rear, similar profiles so no handling issues but the Conti's wet grip left a lot to be desired. If you can avoid mix n' match, do so.

Front tyre is a conti road attack 2. Ok I'll have a look at the standard powers, thanks for the advice
