Yep, I am glad that we made the choice to switch to rugby after Moto2 and then didn't get round to watching before going to bed. Don't want to see it either

very poor form on their part.

Absolutely gutted Simo has passed, he had a few critics for the way he rode (me included at times), but god he made things more exciting

    RIP Marco

Yeah. If that sight didn't make you sick to the stomach there's something wrong with you. I saw some horrendous pics on the ESPN site (I think it was). I'm no ghoul, but I do always try and find out how/why these tragic things happen. Having seen those haunting pictures, I can only say I think the poor guy hopefully didn't suffer much.

I really hope Edwards and Rossi don't beat themselves up too badly, as it really was just one of those horrible freak things. One of the pics clearly shows Rossi's Ducati running over the head of his dear friend. I honestly hope he never sees that. He doesn't deserve to feel bad...he was certainly faultless. A cruel twist, being so close to Simoncelli.

I would fully understand if Rossi now called it a day. He's done more than enough to earn a rest!

Yeah, I too, wonder how this will affect some of the riders. Rossi, Edwards even Stoner, you couldnt blame them for wanting to chuck it in.
Stoner, with a baby due, has already given hints that he won't stay in the sport long enough to chase Doohan's 5 titles etc.
And thoughts too for Fausto Gresini who ran Marco, don't forget this was the same team that lost Dajirio Kato ....

I think its hard on ALL the motogp circus...we are all now reminded that its a dangerous game...any of the motogp class riders could have been in the same situation as VR and CE.
    RIP Marco Simoncelli

It's ironic that such a beautiful sport can be such a cunt of a sport too.

Yeah I wouldnt be surprised if he hung his helmet up to be honest. It would be hard to get over. Same thing happened to Andrew Pitt.

Rossi knew exactly what had happened, his body language on the bike said it all. He knew the race and possible Marco was over

Yeah, that's something I had been thinking also. There will be some deep contemplation now by a lot of riders and who would blame them if they decided that was it.

    Some sincere words here:
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

I agree that it is a no fault thing. I haven't seen the photos and I ain't going looking. I have watched the video though including the one where you see Marco lose the front. Edwards saw him, his bike bobbled but he had no where to go, nothing he could do. Rossi I think was unsighted. It could easily have been much worse. I can't see Rossi giving up. Edwards though?

Rossi has looked of late like a man that's had enough anyway. And with the Ducati being as much of a pile as it is, now this? Even if he does keep going...will his heart really still be in it? It's often when your heart's not really in it anymore that you seem to get hurt. After all of the great things Rossi has done in his time, I'd hate to see him badly hurt when he has absolutely nothing more to prove.

I'm not the only one then. TBH, I can see Rossi continuing for Marco if that makes sense.

It does...but it's not the sort of sport you want to be doing for someone else.
