Yes, as you reach the invisible redline on the tacho the MTS discovers heaps of power. It felt like trying to control a two stroke powerband. For me though it was horrible at low revs, all weak and shuddering like it was about to implode. Mid range, where I expected a massive hit and any twitch of the throttle would send the front wheel skyward, was disappointing. Nothing much happened, still more crazy mechanical vibes. There was a delay between throttle action and backwheel which I didn't like either. Sorry, not my style of power delivery.
That's a completely different bike to the one I rode. Seriously. Did you have it in pussy mode or something? I did 100km on one and thought it was quite awesome with instant 'bam'. Awesome enough to easily make up for its ugly nostrils.

I guess it all depends upion the type of riding you do. My 1050 lump with all the tumes now available means I can easily change the tune before going out. And using Paulvfr's rear damper knob, I can also set the bike up just how I want it.

It was the mode thing I really liked about the MTS, with a really noticeable change between them, which would make such changes more cocnsistent and accurate. My first impressions of the MTS power was pretty damn good, but then most new to you bikes feel good/different until you get used to them. Especially just after switching from Pussy mode.

Personally, I am looking forward to giving the Explorer the once over. If Alain and those German guys can figure out the ECU coding like they have with the other Triumphs and KTMs etc, then it's going to be a real contender.

It was showing SPORT 162HP mode and I tried one of the other settings - more by accident than intent. As I said, at full revs it has heaps of power. I just expected 'more across the full rev range'

    lol.

Someone at work informed me of this bit of news.

A scrambler McQueen model would of been more suited I reckon

To go with the jacket they make...

I am tempted to get the jacket lol
