If they are worried about obesity they should stop feeding them after the age of 2. Its is almost impossible for babies to bulk up and keep that weight for the rest of their lives. Soon as they start moving they burn it like a rocket leaving orbit. Only reason for fat kids is lazy kids until the age of about 5. Then eating plays a part. If their still being breast fed then.....then mum has issues of their own.
Most mums will say the dumbest things. Claim to know the world then cry bloody mary when it doesn't go to their ideals. It took me to become a dad to realize most don't know anything. It amazes me the dumb stuff that is out there re: mothers advice on babies.
But then what would I know. My 4 month old now sleeps from 9pm til 7am, feeds regularly, had great weight/height, almost never cries and likes smiling and talking to people.
Bad parenting makes bad kids. They don't magically appear. Contrary to what most books say.
