That's my suggestion too, buy a convertible.

Just bought one for mrs, perfect on a day that would be nice for the bike but have too much gear to cart, just drop the top and you don't feel like your stuck in a cage.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

They are so small and nippy you'd be surprised how quickly you can get through traffic or pass on the open road. I never tire of experiencing the amazing steering and handling. 130hp might not seem a lot but you rarely want more.

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

I can count the cars I've driven on 2 hands.
Cortina Mk III/IV/V, Subaru ute thing, Honda Legend, Subaru Legacy, Corolla FXGT

And I can happily say I would give my actual left nut for a worked Caterham, or save diligently for a monster Mx5 (LS1 swap) or at least a KA18DET swap.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

Still considering it... Car is probably worth like 4k or so when running... if the flywheel is shagged then it's over 2k just for the part, nevermind the clutch kit + hours of labour.

Problem is we won't know exactly what's wrong until the whole gearbox is taken out, and once you've gone that far...

If you're really against moving house ( in order to justify riding to work) how bout changing jobs? There's plenty on the north shore? That would be a decent commute from town and you can't cycle over the bridge so there's another reason you need a bike! Done!

Well depends how much you like the car etc. If you've got the time and space, can always do it yourself.

My thoughts too... Offered him 4k cash pick up but not interested.

Dunno if a '93 zxr750 is getting a bit old though... looks pretty mint however.

This is why I loved my 300zx. In summer weather you could take off the targa tops, 3l v6 manual goodness, and on a windy road or a trackday you had a grin a mile wide. Using anything other than a bike after that would have been depressing.

Same deal mate. The wifes little MR2 is just on 200,000kms, and it's getting pretty tired. She has loved that, and I'd probably just get her another if I could find it, but low mileage unmolested ones are hard to come by it would seem

. Failing that, it's a matter of picking something, but like you I find them all pretty uninspiring. She has a bee in her bonnet about a blue XR6, so might just lease one of those for a few years, and save up for something else (would love an NSX). Given you have no particular love for cars, have you considered leasing?
