    Wink Cycletreads Learner Friendly Ride to Piha - Sunday 20 Nov 2011

    WHAT: An organized ride to Piha

    WHEN: Sunday 20.11.11

    WHO: This ride is learner friendly, however you must be able maintain the open road speed limit.. This is not suitable if this is going to be your first EVER road ride.

    WHERE: Cycletreads - 72 Barrys Point Road

    WHAT TIME: Meeting 9am at Cycletreads.
    Rider Briefing at 9:50am in Cycletreads Café (second floor)
    Ride leaves at 10am
    Expected time back at Cycletreads is 2:30 - 3pm

    ROUTE: Details of the route will be given in the pre ride briefing. Rough idea of the route can be found here - CLICK ME

    DISTANCE: 224km (aprox)

    CONDITIONS:

    Ride is weather dependant and might be canceled if torrential rain or severe weather conditions are expected.

    All riders must wear appropriate riding gear – Shorts and t-shirt are NOT acceptable riding gear.

    By attending this ride, all riders agree that they will obey all road rules and act in responsible manner around other road users. Wheelies, stopieas, drifts, stunts, burnouts or any other dangerous behavior WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

    By attending this ride all riders understand that Cycletreads Superstore will not be liable for any damage that might be sustained by your motorcycle, your riding gear or yourself in case of an accident or any other situation.

    LET COMMON SENCE PREVAIL

    Sounds like an awesome ride, and I'd definately be keen, 'cept there is a learner friendly ride to cape reinga that weekend also

    Yes, well this is for the people that could not afford to be away for 3 whole days but still keen for a cruise

    The one and only time I went to Piha, I somehow ended up the Waitaks where the road got more narrow the further you went up.
    Great view back over Auckland though...
    Went all the way back to Lincoln rd Maccas for lunch and asked the question...

    I will take you for a ride out there sometime, there are some hidden gem roads.

    I looked at the map - you are doing that route from Taupaki? That is a really nice ride, and not as busy as the main route from Titirangi

    I would go through swanson then up Mountain Rd. Hill climb fun!!

    The map is a general idea for the route, but depending on time we might get to do some extra nice twisty bits of road too

    The weather is certanly looking like it is going to play ball
