Leave from BP in Westgate, then end up in Albany Carpark till around 8.30ish then get a beer afterwards.

Though may be more time efficient to leave at Warkworth?
Rest in peace Tony - you will be missed.

Do you still have the other tennis balls? If so, bring them along to the service station and I'll grab them off you for the car park.

Since I want to leave at 6.30pm on the dot, I will do a quick ride briefing now:

    - If I feel the need for a marker on a corner I will point to the corner and the person behind pulls safely onto the side pointing in the direction of the leader.

    - No dangerous passing maneuvers, or overtaking the leader.

    - If there is a problem with somebody's bike and they need to slow down, slow down with them until the leader has been notified and then we can sort out a solution.

    - No one goes behind TEC

    - Enjoy the ride.

Here is a link to the directions: http://g.co/maps/mbvh7

Takes approx 1hr 21m so we would get to Albany carpark at around 8pm
Not to put a halt to your plans but last time we did woodcocks (20-11-11) it was covered in gravel and the repairs were falling apart to. all on corners.
You might want to check what state it is in before heading up.

I am happy to report that apart from a 1km stretch that has been resealed/marked and swept today as I rode the road..Woodcocks is in pretty mint and good to go.
The reversing tractor just around a left hander was a total suprise though...
...and the lamb shanks in the slow cooker smell awfully yum...

That's good to hear. might even come up and join you for the ride.

And for everyone's benefit, Cove road, the langs beach to Waipu, is all road works through the twisty's and the the Mangawhai - Kaiwaka road is even worse.
