I'm in, and I have an idea...
One biker, 20 rollerbladers, one rope...
You like where it is going?![]()
Am in near tears Ann,what a great bunch of caring people,I am hoping to get up for the relay(my priority is the Taranaki one as family link to it).I would soo like to do the opening survivors lap to kick this off and beleive me will try my hardest to be there, and this is what I love about the kb way and riding in general, all great people.
When life sucks to some to others a mere hickup, well to me this shock result is a mere blip in the road,I am proud to be a survivor when I do the opening lap,it is the best part of having had cancer.
I am far and away not the first or last person to endure cancer, but beleive me the relay is a great way for the society to get the message out there,i.e bowel, prostate, breast, malonoma, and the slip, slop, slap message, and the funds raised stay locally, who knows you never know if you need the society,I sure as hell hope none of you guys EVER need to use the society, but if you do the benefits you recieve are amazing.
So from the bottom of my heart from myself and family(who are amazing, and probably feel lots more worry than me)my heartfelt best wishes for xmas and new year.

...another part of this day (idea in the making) is to have a baton leave Wellington and visit all parts of the north island as possible while making its way to Aucklands North Shore...a Motorbike Baton Relay?
Heaps to think about with this one (logistics) and a few details to put in place.
I would like some help with this (to nut it all out)..2-3 extras should do it...pm me if you're in.
All the best for tomorrow Tony.
Well you see mate it goes like this...
Sometimes in life we stumble accross some truely amazing people and when we do it is special. This is our way of supporting you in your new journey with cancer. We cant be there, but you can sure as shit know we are with you all the way. The Relay for Life is Nationwide, not just in Auckland. You need to stay put and celebrate your life with your family down there. It is also a broader platform. I doubt there are many that have not been touched in some way by cancer.
I lost my Mom to the effects of her treatment, my brother has just faced down throat cancer, is 12 months clear of his treatment and seemingly doing well, my best friend taken far too soon. So this is for all of them too.
All we have to do is give a shit mate, the rest comes easily in my experience. Watch this space though, it is promising to be alot of fun for all concerned
All the very best for tomorrow, at least you will have a plan, and some idea of the prognosis of treatment too. Do let me know.
I have a call into the Auckland coordinator of the event to discuss the detail of what we have in mind, I want to know is we all have to be in attendance at the same time or whether we can come and go and be outside harrassing folk for moneyShe must be very busy, I will call her again tomorrow!
Oh, and I like the 1 bike/12 skates/1 rope idea very much
Get thinking about how you can get money from people, I am going to simply harrass everyone I meet for dontaions, my boss must be good for a tap![]()
I like the idea of selling little bags of truffles and shortcake, (Mr SWBARNETT to the red courtesy phone please), do a donations / pick up bbq at your placeor in a lovely park i.e. donation / pick up picknick?
surely the Singing Chef could whip up copious amounts of white sauce to go with.... stuff
as i have made many addicted to my treats at work, they will from now on have to pay for the pleasure.......hmmmmm
