    Reasonable cost for leather jackets?

Hey all, looking at getting a leather jacket over summer. Have an allweather one at the moment which works just fine,
but I wouldnt mind a leather jacket to boot.

I've always liked the look of the bomber jackets, but they all seem hideously expensive.
Any suggestions for a reasonably priced decent looking leather jacket?

you will get a lot of answers on here
But I would suggest you look around at places like cycletreads who have a good range
you dont have to spend a fortune to get a good jacket (depends on what is a fortune to you)
but think about the safty aspects and also about can you connect to a good pair of pants (which in bad weather is a godsend as well as being safer in an accident)

hate to mention it but also think of your visibility

There is always trademe if budget is tight but always try on before you buy as a good fit is important. At least sit on your bike with jacket, helmet and gloves to make sure its comfortable and your helmet fits in with the jacket around the collar

+1 for Cycletreads. I have also got quite a bit of stuff from 1Tonne and always had a great experience.

I wore this for about six months. Most excellent quality leather.

Add me to the list of people who are impressed with 1Tonne leather jackets. I bought the "Terminator" on Monday. Turned up Wednesday. Nice quality and good fit. My bosses classic leather jacket from them is also great!

I think the majority of products sold as "protective leather motorcycle gear" are actually made of some type of leather, rather then synthetic leather which is used more frequently for "dress" garments.

But just saying something is made from "leather" doesn't say a whole lot either - there are many different types of animal hide, offering quite different levels of abrasion resistance. And even then, you need to consider the garment construction ...

The Jet Leather website is quite specific about their leather quality, type of hide, thickness and country of origin.

I also assume the OP knows what leather actually is, and he/she can do their own research based on replies to their thread.

It would appear that YOU have put jet leathers on the kiwibiker wiki, so why would you make these comments if you had done 'some' research when updating the wiki.

Just say what ya mean and mean what ya say, or shut the fuck up. Your post contributes nothing to the thread.
