I could be out for this ride guys. I seem to have run into a snag while fixing the front sprocket seal. By putting a new seal and O ring in I have made the slow leak a fast leak. Not sure what I've done but I'm gonna try and get it to Norjos and let them have a go at it. Anyone got a car and trailer I can borrow?

Okay, I'm pretty sure I know what I did wrong. You do NOT push the oil seal all the way in. Time to buy another oil seal and O ring. I have Wednesday off so hopefully I can have it all installed by Thursday.

Lewis Pass / Rainbow Block - Thursday 5th Jan

The weather is looking a bit marginal at this stage with Southerly change forecast! I will check again on Wednesday afternoon and confirm one way or the other if I am still going....
Back at work on Saturday after nearly a month off so this will be my last change for a while....

Harden up! If weather is dodgy lets do another shorter ride closer to home?
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up to much room!

My preference is to do Tangocharlies northern route but if that doesnt happen I also would like to do a recon ride up thru Glenfalloch/Lake Heron as I haven't actually done it myself if you are keen as a backup option?

Glenfalloch/Lake Heron sounds good if the Rainbow run falls through. Was 07 when I last did that lap.

Lewis / Rainbow Block is On!

The 600km round trip is on for Thursday the 5th of Jan. Just spoke with DOC at St Arnaud and they confirm the Rainbow is open with no reported slips or "issues"
They also advise that the Porika is "very rough" but open. The weather forecast looks good.

I suggest we meet at the Belfast Hotel at the end of the Motorway. How does 8.00am suit?

See you there. Remember to bring $15-00 cash for the Rainbow Toll!

went thru the rainbow yesterday. the st arnaud end was quite muddy and the main crossing was about knee deep and quite swift. so no real problems

    Ha ha, nice thanks.
We never did see you on the CCC loop either did we?
I'm riding tomorrow but doing a shorter ride to save a bit of gas and to be able to do another shorter run between now and DB1K.
I know you said this is your last chance to ride but I was thinking I may do the CCC again in about a week... I'm off work until the 16th.
