Kuryakyn Stinger Trap Door for Standard Hypercharger

I have a 2001 800 intruder volusia - luckily it already came with a hypercharger installed, so I havent had to worry about rejetting and so forth.
    Twas this part:

Initial impressions are that I find acceleration alot smoother, I appear to be using less throttle on the highway and the whole sound of the bike has changed. I suspect this is more due to the "sucking" sound that I know get when I give it a handful. You cant really hear any specific sound, but the bike sounds throatier, and is more responsive at all levels.
Not only does it improve performance and sound (anecdotally of course), but it looks good, and as usual with Kuryakyn products they seem to be very well made and solid (I also have a Kuryakyn cigarette lighter mount on the handle bars), and easy to install.

Here is a somewhat grainy version I took this morning:

Good to see reviews of something cruiser related.

The problem with some of the Kuryakyn parts is that you pay a premium for their "name" when a lot of their parts are mass produced in China and branded with the Kuryakyn name

Take the ISO grips for example.

They are about $86.29 NZD plus international s&h for K grips off Cruiser Customizing.

On trademe, the same grips will cost you $99 plus $6 s&h of Trademe - under the generic brand name of W.M.S.

    well I didnt know that..

    Its all very expensive really..

Fortunately my father in law lives in Colorado, and is a biker, so I have him on the hunt for some parts for me - mirrors, pegs, etc.

That W.M.S place appears to be in manukau?

I've bought a set of "WMS" grips, although not the "ISO" grips.

    They were alright.

    Have a look at http://www.vtwinmfg.com

You will see a number of items (ie.. grips & mirrors) that oddly look 1 to 1 of the same product lines other brands have.

WMS is in Trugood Drive almost next to Botany Honda (but closer to the traffic lights), if I have the correct place...

BTW, any other bits and pieces you buy and want to do a review on, send an email to information@thirteenmotorcyclemagazine.co.nz

The Jan 2012 issue has a review Munster wrote up, on M50 forward controls he recently bought. The magazine runs that sort of stuff.

I've actually done a paper on writing reviews for magazines lol..

    I bought one of these:

Which I can review, as well as a RAM mount with a claw phone holder and a waterproof one..
