I would like to thank everyone for your comments about our commentary , it is not an easy job and yes we make fuck ups. I would like also to state that after this season I will no longer be involved in the Road Racing world. I have had enough of , where do I start, Writing all the correct Supp regs , all the correct legal entry forms (after the first round fuck ups) , setting up the web coverage and compiling the points for the series , finding and introducing Grant Collingwood to Tim Gibbs to get the "Live Timing" and Streaming online. Getting sponsorship from RK Chain among others , the list goes on.

In fucking return over the last couple of seasons we have had comments that we choose to ignore, now it just gets to me , and I'm over it. As for sidecars they are their own worst enemy , 150 Streetstock love the concept but am over the bullshit ,this has been going on for the last six years well before the current MNZ admin. 250 Prolite love it , but the rules are the rules.

Hey mate........you took my comment the wrong way.... i was being light-hearted too about picking up the award .
And i meant it would be unfair to GIVE ALL the oppps awards TO mnz......... as they would easily win as many as you had available........!
You do a great job and although i may comment /disagree on some of your various forums.......... i commended you on your commitment to the sport i love.

Maybe not. But some of them have at least been there and done that.

    Hi Merv

In the light of day I see that I was wrong and I did mis-read your comments. (note to self re-read before posting a reply). I was just so rooted from the weekend , that I jumped too fast. And I'm sorry that I re-acted that way , I like so many in the sport I'm just fed up with so call experts not just here on KB knowing everything about how to run meetings , rules and passing un-informed judgement on incidents that happen when they weren't even there. However people are entitled to an opinion I guess but it does wear you down after a while.

Most and I must re-iterated MOST choose to be part of the sport for the love of it. Some however have agendas and some will only go racing when others pay for it. It is the people who turn up year after year that are the back bone of the sport without them there would be no sport at any level.

    Cheers
    See you at Timaru

The real concern I have is the language of the MC at the prizegiving. Disgusting. I know most other clubs have no youth in them, but our one does, so standards DO apply.
I was that 'MC" at the prizegiving and I'd like to take you seriuosly but somehow I can't.
In one statement here you tell the tale of 'teaching' people they will get discrimination and abuse, yet you feel the need to put cotton wool in their ears when the F word is said.
I did get loose at the prize giving, and to those who were offended by it I do apoligise.
I have had five days of Commentating and interveiwing over the last 28 days and concious all the time that not only am I speaking in public, it is going around the world and being recorded, it's tough when I will admit to having a building site background, and worse still, Mr Oyster (is it Mr or Mrs?) I come from the Sidecar Fraternity.
I was worn out and offered to help at prize giving and let my hair down, Guilty as charged.
I did warn people early on that the Prizegiving was Rated PGR, Probably Gets Rude were my exact words however and most of my humour was way over the heads of the youngsters I'm sure.
Why can't I take you seriously Mr Oyster? you mention the youth; most likely the 150 and 250 riders and siblings, that you so need to protect from this sort of language yet in your previous paragraph you're quite happy to use the word Masturbator and actually directed towards an official.
Double standards? Too right, your precious youth also frequent this site and know who you are and not only read your words eg Fuc....g Wanker, but re read them a dozen times and can copy and paste them out to their mates, my words were spoken then gone, except for the occasional quote that somehow finds it's way onto KB.
I enjoyed the meeting immensly, it was a privelige to support firstly the Canterbury region and secondly Motorcycle Racing in New Zealand and watch some of the finest Motorcyle racing I've ever seen in this country, and I've seen a lot. To see two riders fastest laps separated by just two-thousandths of a second at the front of a feild is unreal, to see it twice at the same meeting I just about wet myself.
I did this all self funded from the North Island, oh you better add that to the list with building site and sidecar fraternity, with the exception of a free ticket to the event and a can of Red Bull. ( I was offered assistance to get there but declined, this is my contribution to my Sport)
Not sure whether I'm going to Timaru this weekend, I'm yet to find a way to get there and the coin but I take it after your rant It's cool with you to use the word Masturbator, your young Mentors are well aware of that word it seems?

Yes good point Gav,Maybe as Greg has suggested we should look at the tyre rules for buckets participating on the bigger circuits,I mean after all the only reason there are no restrictions on tyres for them now is because they have generally been run on the smaller and slower tracks,I'd suggest in future the best place to get answers for your queries would be through the correct channels,IE the contact details on the MNZ website.

Sorry Billy, but I've never seen this memo you have. As a steward i'm entitled to this information. The one I have dated 22nd Dec is totally different. The one you have I was told was produced at the very last minute, certainly no one told the riders about it. Evidence suggests it was falsely dated. Note the wording "championship starting next weekend." Did I miss round 1 of the championship on Dec 24th/25th as the memo states?
Of course not. If there was an ambush, it was by MNZ intending to beat up the young riders.

Jesus, Billy, I did not suggest it !!!! Are you trying to get me hung ???

You don't have to poke a stick at me just because i'm around ChCh....i'm neutral on your issues with Oysterman.

i am however, surprised at MCI as they have had a very good reputation for dotting the i's and crossing t's prior to sending out enty forms.

Haha!Yea,Sorry mate,Looks like you copped a bit of freindly fire there,It was said tongue in cheek of course,We are NOT looking at interferring with the Bucket rules as they stand.

Yea I'm a bit surprised at the MCI thing as well and so were some of the organsing committee set up by Dennis when we contacted them for an explanation ????

I don't often post here but some of the comments regarding MNZ officials and the hoard of volunteers who give up their own time to allow the continued existence of motorcycle road racing has me in a state of bewilderment. I have in the past been a competitor at the nationals, club level and every other level where a motorcycle was involved and following this, I chose to give something back by becoming an MNZ Steward at national road race and motocross meetings. The negative comments regarding officialdom being bandied about on here are in no way helping the sport to progress and the various issues faced by competitors should be handled with an amount of constructive insight instead of petty innuendo’s and non-constructive slights. These negative comments etc. will, and over the years have, only served to piss the backbone of the sport off, and as in my case persuaded them to distance themselves from the sport in general
To the guys like Ian Dawson, Spyda , Billy etc. etc. who give up great amounts of their own time free of charge to develop and foster the sport, bloody well done one and all. Without selfless enthusiasm such as demonstrated by yourselves and your peers there would be no sport!!!
Get behind them and see if their enthusiasm for the sport can be infectious.
Sorry Spyda but had to get this said......
Life is not a test ride.....

Nobody I've ever met whilst racing over a very long time would disagree with you on that front. Doesn't mean certain people within MNZ shouldn't be given a fucking good serve when they're well out of line.

Best you scan your memo dated 22nd Dec then and we can have a look at it!
