I was in england 12 years ago, and suzuki dealerships had a ZERO APR on new bikes, what a deal.

Interesting, we're having no issues with sales or gaining top quality stock.

Sales are a bit quiet here in ChCh as well. One factor in not being able to get top quality stock is the change in import laws. We've stocked up as much as possible (larger yard with 280+ cars on the books) but it's going to get tougher soon.

Understood, our stock is made up of 90% new, 10% pre-loved so the new laws aren't affecting us.
It also helps that I can sell out of other yards too (Sime Darby)

in the 1st question, yes it is still hard out there, very hard on the road bike dealers especially, but the good ones are still going alright, been another round of shop closures and receiverships as well, Euro and US bikes are doing better than most due to a good exchange rate for their importers, where the yen is still very strong hurting the jap bikes, (why the pricing between the two is much closer than it has ever been), the latest new rego figures which i saw (from november) shows the new rego's down to nearly a quarter of what they were for the same month in 08.

as for your question on teh finance, the dealers, or the distributors pay the finance rate for those 0% deals, and after the credit crunch it has been much harder to get the finance companies to do these deals,
