Simple solution alright,...but mortgage says no just at the moment for 2 Gutsi's to live there. Besides, I'm running the bucket racer, rebuilding the DR250 and about to restore Uma so room is an issue ...![]()

Today, one rode a Breva 1100. A red one.
One is not usually a fan of v-twins. One is now reconsidering one's views.
"Standing on your mother's corpse you told me that you'd wait forever." [Bryan Adams: Summer of 69]
just bought a se model, hope to enjoy for a long long time, after test riding triumph speed triple 1050 and thruxton, bmw R1200R and F800R,mv agusta brutale 920,aprillia tuono v4 and ducati monster 1100evo (was a hairline decision with brutale 1090rr)am comfortable with my decision
well have picked it up,am a bit technically challenged (part of getting older and no time to keep up with technology)will try to enlist some help from someone later for this,so for now it only exists to me and not you guys (I don't really have a problem with that ) 1st ride felt like it had more low end torque than the demo, the se I got also had regular discs (not the wave type on the demo)also felt it shake its head a bit on the country rode I took it on on some rough bits (about 130-140km/h)still very tight (likes at least 3k on the revs(but hey my old ducati superlight always did also)definately prefers to be revved out a bit for smoother gear changes(otherwise a bit clunky).still got the standard exaust on it (as the termignoni is on back order)which actually doesn't sound too bad (just lacking a bit of volume, but the actual note is ok,whereas the termi (from the demo)sounds bloody awful with the db killer in (but lovely when removed)).the trip computer says I have only reached 146km/h on it (but have only done 300km and plan on keeping this bike forever so don't want a premature death for it)there is a bit of a learning curve as I have never ridden a guzzi to this point and the thing I think will have to learn the most is downshifts, and lining it up for hairpins (for when it is run in and they have a trackday)getting used to that shaft snatch and how it reacts to higher rev downchanges and setting up lines etc (I have been in cruiser land for 11yrs with a yamaha XVS 1100)gotta admit though love it,missus reckons it looks good too (she doesn't like cruisers)plenty of power for me and quite linear (up to the 6.5k I am limiting it too in the first 1500km,again as per review, tappets a bit noisy (but not annoying, and the termi will drown them out when it arrives)and a slightly rattly dry clutch(when disengaged)but not half as noisy as the old superlight. Will keep the thread updated and try to somehow get some photos on here at some stage
yeah it rocks lol, still getting used to a few quirks, fuel injection takes a while to settle after start up,and has a flat spot for a bit down really low,at least this is the closest to a carburetter of the injected motors(fuel injection is the worst thing to happen to motors in my opinion,as it has robbed motors of a whole pile of their character)though some of the other bikes I tried in tests still make sense, this is the one I love and have no regrets(not untill I lose my licence anyway lol)would actually love an old guzzi, love the old le mans 850 and 1000's mk I,II and III but the clip ons are not my thing anymore(carburetter motors are though sigh) still love this one and a 90th anniversary model,it's a keeper
Come on Auskiwi,..show us the pics![]()
