FXR150 ClipOns/ Handle Bars?

Ok Here's what i have got. This design of handle bar/ Clip on enables you to replace just the bar bit and not the clamp part. Making it cheaper and easyer to fix should you have a mishap and require repairs.

I will be selling the clamps indiviually (per side) and without the bar bit, so if you wanted to have a pair you would have to order 2.

At the moment i am guessing that they are going to owe me around $50 per clamp so that makes it $100 per pair, plus the bar bit which i will get sorted once i sepak to supplier, but should be pretty cost effective.

I will look into costing once i have done a batch run and see how the price comes up and there might be some room to sharpen it up a smidge, will have to wait and see.

Oppinions and any advise on design alterations welcome.

Std Clipopn assy weighs 580g, the adaptor alone without the bar weighs 325g.

That is an interesting design, certainly looks like it would stand up to crashing.
I am not sure if it's normal, but my current clipons have a slight down angle for the bar.

Cheers for the input. Yea they are a little industrial at this stage but i do plan on wasting some more from the design where i can without compramising too much of their strength.

Quite right they dont have any angle so bars would stick out at right angles to forks and with no down slope. I dont know how important this is to riders, but if required i can look at putting an angle on the bars so they would slope down slightly.

About 7 degrees seems to be the norm. The offset on these seems to be a bit more than normal as well. Can't see a way to get around that with fabricated vs welded clip ons though.

Well I think these look awesome!! Good job man, I think they would work well. If you are able to drill a hole through them at an angle (or mill it or however you have done it) for the handlebars then hell I would have definitely bought a set if I was still riding an FXR. Would be easy as to swap new handlebars over after crashing n breaking them

Cheers I will look at trying to put a 7degree cut through on the next one to see how it goes. Yea the offset is a little more than i would like theres about 5mm of matereial between the two cuts i didnt want to go much less than that otherwise it could cause a weakness. I could have the bars welded but defeats te idea of having a easly track repairable setup. Might have to go down this line if this design proves inapropriate.

Thanks for the input i will have a look into getting this done if i have difficulties boring the hole on an angle and report back.
