Good spotting mate
Yup, the new (very excited) owner arrives on thursday night to pick up his new guzzi (were picking him up from airport and hes staying in the spare room over night before heading off north in the morning)
Dragged PhatGirl out on sunday to fire her up as she's been sitting for a few weeks now(Not mine to ride anymore)...she fired straight up! (And sounded sooooo good...I nearly cried lol)
So glad she is going to a good home, new owner is a guzzi fanatic as well as a KB member...couldn't have asked for a better result (I was REALLY worried some animal would buy her and destroy all that hard work rebuilding her)
...will be so sad to see her go tho...damn fine bike that one

Beautiful story, like a biker's fairy tale! Love it!![]()
if i were you i would email the old owner the pics and tell him that you got the 4th gear problem sorted for $50, and thank him for the cheap bike....that will fakk him off
Congrats WTK, Nice Yam there all right, great buying, - see ya on-the-road

Gidday mate...first off...OMG THOSE PIPES LOOK AMAZING!!!!
...dear god that bike of yours getting RIDICULOUSLY georgeous
Yeah very happy with MAC...still needs ALOT of work done tho, but just doing the usual basics and "settling" the big bugger in(shocking handling presently...can't have that), but at this stage I'm stuck on a chopper for at least a year to help give the shoulder time to heal...dunno what I'll do next year to be honest....kinda like this Kenworth/loungeSuite riding style
...or it could be back to a guzzi....(
....god Im gonna miss that bike man)

nice bike WTK,
oh as for spares? remember the MT-01 is based on the same motor, and the 1900cc Stratoliner. I have to admit I am a bit amazed about the issue with 4thn gear But from all the reading I have done on these motors, they seem pretty tough, in fact on the MT it is the clutch that has tended to 'slip/let go' before anything else under high power usage. I did look at the Warrior that appeared on tardme at the same time as my MT.... these are huge motors and I think once you've gotten the gears sorted out, you should get many years of happy motoring, there is one MT owner with almost 200,000km's with no issues i have had a 'natter with' elsewhere.
I did find this on the internet, i wonder if there was a recall done by yamaha here??
quote: "While riding m y 2003 yamaha roadstar i had problems getting it to shift into 4th gear. i checked the internet for any recalls on the bike. when i found that there is a recall i took the bike to my local dealer, the ran the vin# and said that it had already been done. the recall states that after the modifications are complete stamp a "*" above the a on the vin#. my bike does not have the stamp, the dealer said that don't matter because he knows it was done. i do not feel safe riding the bike since the recall states do not ride serious injury or death will result. if the bike shifted properly i would feel more confident that the work was completed."

Thats a very nice diamond in the rough that you found there
Few steps away from disaster, but worth it all in the end.
I never get lost. I go on adventures
Nice machine there, Willy.
Sad I never got a chance to experience Phatty but nay mind sounds like she went to a good home.
Don't tell anyone but I've been considering selling my Guzzi lately too. My arthritis in my wrist is becoming an issue and like yourself I need something a little more upright.
V-Rods have my interest at present.......
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Gidday Nude
Yeah sorry mate, was hoping you would get a ride one day, but if you ever want a go on my lounge-suit/kenworth your more than welcome mate
I like V-Rods!...they look good! (heard they go like stink to...with a little "fettling")
Not good to hear about the arthritis tho....god were getting old lol
I must admit, the shoulder is so much better after just a couple of weeks being off the "torture rack" (those clipons where killing me!)...Im giving it a year, then I may look at another Guzzi (shoulder permitting)...once ya got that Guzzi bug
Take care mate, always good to hear from ya and hope the family is well
...and gimmie a yell when ya down next eh![]()
