    Thumbs up Star helmet visor early 89 model

    I brought cheap star helmet from cash converters hasint got a visor

    And with no front guard its nasty getting spray in the face and spare visor whould do even i had to tape it in place

    there made in nz does anyone know can still get replacments for this

    id did have decent helmet but gave it away to a friend

    Am thinking i take it back get 2 dollars for it hehe or growing a plant in it inside but probley fail that to by rolling over and tiping soil everwhere

    brought hjc locally i dont know why didnt look trademe first wonder can take it back get my money back been less than a week

    Consumer law i think states can take most things back except choclate fish hehe

    I will say to the manager he great bloke maybe not good idea selling such old gear esp polycarbonate helmet that old

    I didnt check i said never wear one then saw the join oh shit i thought being nz made it be fibreglass at least

    Goes to show in despration to ride the bike not thinking with the head

    I imagine you might have trouble taking it back when you have an off and it does nothing to protect your head. You never know, do they have wheelchair access?

    yes i was trying make light humour of serous issue people tak things wrong way in print dont they

    I suprose you chould have law outlining what is accepatable condtion helmet for the road.

    But down to commone sence really , i had perfectly safe helmet lent to somone never got it back

    and he never used it either grrrrrrr part time riders i tell you

    Conventional wisdom says a helmet should be replaced after a bin, any sort of impact or after 5 years use. Plenty of us push the envelope a bit on those points, but...
    One that has no known history and is 22 years old?
    Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    When buying a new helmet, how do you know it hasn't been dropped in the factory by a careless employee or in the shop it was bought from? A "new" helmet might not always be so new after all.

    I would have thought a 20 year-old helmet is not acceptable for road use. Not on my head anyway. (with or without a visor)
