Last year the government in the form of then broadcasting minister Jonathan Coleman either intentionally or incompetently mislead the public by saying the weekly ratings were only 207,000. These figures were given to the herald to publish and justify the closure of the channel this coming June.
In reality the figure is more like 1.4 million.
Yes we know the Herald doesn't check facts, and that politicians are incompetent and/or lie, but really - wtf? Surely now the truth is out that we'll see the decision to close TVNZ 7 reversed. No - that's assuming that the government cares about quality educational broadcasting. And don't call me shirley.
I wish the cock and balls that I'd drawn on my voting paper had won the election. Sometimes I think they did....
