Late notice I know, but tomorrow I have the day off, so thinking of cruising through Hunuas out to Thames, and doing the Loop, or something resembling it.
If anyone wants to join me, lemme know.

Nah, they're Hyo 250s. So you don't get a lot of power to weight with the ballast on the back. Just means you have to carry corner speed a lot more.

If the weather clears up for tonight, this sack of potatoes will bring home-baked cookies.
(this lack of biking seems to be fucking with my mind)

Let me tell you why I wont be swarming tonight.

Friday I did the Coro loop. Fantastic, almost ran off the road countless times gobbing at the view. 5-600 kays, keen for the Monday swarm.

Saturday I take the girlfriend out to Maraitai, Clevedon etc, and get lunch in Takanini before cruising home. Keen for the Monday swarm.

Sunday evening. The bike has spent most of the day snoozing, and Im relaxing after a busy day. A mate calls, and asks for a massive favour. Against my better judgement, I ask what.
Hes in Taupo with a few mates for a kayaking and rafting trip. The girl who was driving has had her bag stolen, including phone, and the key required to start their car. Because of the chip in the key, the only other key that will start it is in Auckland. Would I mind, at 7.30pm, picking up the key from her house in town, and rocking down to Taupo to drop it off?

Being an idiot, I said ok. After a bit of mucking around, I headed off. Past Hamilton, it started pouring. Really pouring. And it didnt let up the entire way down or back up. I was soaked completely through by the time I reached Taupo. The bastards, they never told me it would rain. Heading to and from Taupo the roads were constantly under construction, slippery, and I was flying blind with the rain, fog, and everything else. Kinda exhilirating really. Trucks doing their best to blind you, and knock you off the road, and water sploshing in your boots, tickling your bits, and turning your hands blue. Fun stuff.

To add insult, when I finally return to Auckland, they close the motorway, making me detour.
So when I got home at about 3.45 this morning, feeling mildly hypothermic, I decided against a ride tonight.

On the bright side, the bike did everything I asked of it and more. After something like 8 hours in the saddle in the rain.
Sure it would have been easier on a BMW adventure bike, or a Hornet, but where's the fun in that?

Because I've never found hypothermia to be fun?

Hahaha baffa, good on ya for helping out a friend! I left taupo about 7:30, so we would have passed each other at some point! (but I was in the comfort of my car out of the elements!)

I'm knackered tonight! Just finished at school and feel like I've been run over by a truck! So no riding for me tonight (getting old)

    There's your problem. Should've been a gixxer

Also, no text asking for help moving... I would've lent a hand had I known

Hmmm, Wanpo and Toto flatting together... sounds like mischief in the making to me

I don't really have a good excuse for not riding tonight... I'll just be playing Warhammer 40K Space Marine on the PS3
