    Fking idiot

Some idiot concrete cutter was cutting up some concrete a few metres from where my bike was parked this morning, making a hell of a racket.

Walk out to ride the bike to head to work and it's covered in concrete dust. What sort of retard doesnt clear the area and give people a heads up?

Well the OP probly would have had some different phrasing if there was a concrete saw lodged in his tank.

I'd be giving it a damn good clean, and billing the contractors for your time, make sure to get it all out too, you don't want it turning to concrete again!

I only had time for a very quick wipedown with a spare rag before heading off to work. Hoping it doesnt cause any trouble with the chain or anything else for that matter. For once I'm hoping it rains so it gets washed off a little bit. If there is any lingering damage Ill be taking it out of his hide.

+1. Don't wait for the rain, give it a good hose down trying not to rub until the cement dust has been washed off.

Take it to a groomer. Give him the bill. If he doesn't pay, take him to the Disputes Tribunal. If nothing else, it will waste a portion of his billable time, so maybe he will think twice in the future. Go find out from the dept of labour or environment, see if there is some obligation on him to mitigate contamination of the environment. If there is, and he mucks you about, dob the prick in.

I had the exact same thing done next to my guzzi! (less than 2 feet away!)

Listen to the advice allready given!, wash the bike NOW!!..not tomorrow..don't even ride it home till you have THOROUGHLY!! cleaned the shocks etc!!
I tried to clean mine down at the time, and yet by the time I had got home the front fork seals had blown to pieces!, then the rear wheel bearing went a month later!(just the one on that side)...concrete dust and grease/oil = cutting compound!

So once again...DONT PISS AROUND, clean the bike thoughly!!!...hell I did, and even that didnt stop the bearings and forks etc blowing.

(My mechanic found concrete residue inside the fork leg dampers!...it gets everywhere!)

Get the concrete cutters name and details mate, if this happens to your ride, you CAN seek repair costs (same as a painter spraying in the area and coating yourt ride in overspray...they MUST take due care)

Shit! Couldn't they at least have covered your bike with a plastic sheet or something? Farkin' wankers!

Thanks guys. Took the bike to a washworld type place on my lunch break, and gave it a high pressure spray, a quick scrub down, and another high pressure spray. I hope thats enough.

Funnily enough I work in commercial insurance, so I'm well versed in Liability cover. The bike is getting a service next week so I'll get George to give it a thorough once over.
