Post Classics and coolant

What's going on oop North ? In the last year I've had two pre 89 racebikes bought from the North Island and thrown at me to sort out.

Both have had antifreeze in the cooling system. The first at least had clear fluid in the overflow but the second has blatant green visible.

Admittedly both would have been midfield runners at best but come on guys you should all know better.

Ive come across green non glycol cooalnt.. it comes from super cheap cant recall what it was but I used my self and got pulled up about and pulled out the bottle to prove I wasnt a wanker (but that alone doesnt help my cause) so maybe they could be in the same boat?

If it looks like glycol, smells like glycol and feels like glycol, I'm not going to taste it just to prove it's bloody glycol....

I'll leave that to the wine drinkers amongst you.

Grumph, I would suggest that across the country it is more prevalent than many people realise, in all classes.....

I also swear by the " Team Green " non glycol and MNZ approved product and have never had an issue as i can present a letter to prove the makeup of it.

With these in when the alcohol content is tested it gives a higher number than it would otherwise have and therefore commands a higher price.
Trouble is, polyols are quite toxic.

In Auckland years ago my pre 82 post classic bike wasnt going to pass scrutineering as they couldnt find the coolant overflow bottle. I had an AIR COOLED gsx motor.
