What really pisses me off is when cyclists arrogantly ride down the road two abreast at 20ks/h with absolutely no intention of changing to single file or pulling over to allow you to pass.
If you wouldnt do it in a car dont do it on a pushbike.
The law states that 2 abreast is legal if it is safe to do so. Not just convenient for all other road users.

The assumption that the string of cyclists ahead of you will stay in single file ... is an assumption that may be your undoing ...

I have no issue with people hating whomever they choose. But anyone who consistently has a problem with overtaking cyclists should just take the bus.

I am pretty sure, the road code also states that cyclists should wear protective helmets, be well visible (ie. front and rear light or reflector) and also observe all traffic rules (ie don't run red lights)
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

I ride both cycles and bikes, and have done for 30 years. Cyclists have EVERY right to be side by side and take up as much of the lane as they deem necessary to not be killed by morons who have no idea what they are doing on the road. Just the same as you, as a motorcyclist have every right to ride in any part of your lane and NOT expect a car to be occupying it at the same time you are.

Hell.. if you cant wait a few seconds till you can pass safely.. GET OFF THE FREAKIN ROAD.

Honestly.. it drives me nuts. People trying to tell me how to ride, where to ride, and so on.. when you learn to not endange my life, I'll get out of your way. I had some yobbo yelling at me yesterday because my mate and I were riding side by side. The road was wide enough for cars to pass and still give us 1.5m (and they were)... AND HE WAS GOING THE OTHER WAY! If he had of stopped I would have inserted my bike pump into his rectum.

Anyway.. unless you are out there riding you dont see what we see, you dont know what we know, you dont know what the cyclist considers an acceptable risk, etc. The same things that apply to motorcycling apply to cycling. There are some idiots, and some times stuff happens that you dont expect that other people only see the tail end of and think you're being an idiot.

    (and what quickbuck said).
I ride a push bike almost every day, and I do a lot of that riding in fairly heavy traffic. Cyclists who ride side by side are still fuckwits though because they have no right to hold up traffic just to be a cunt. I take all reasonable steps to stay out of the way of other vehicles, because it will be me that's lying on the side of the road all fucked up, not the cager. It's the road users with a selfish attitude like yours who act like they own every road, and that they have more rights than every other road user who are the ones causing the problems.

The Canterbury Road Policing Manager (Big Boss POPO) has an interesting office.

It's a small office, by managerial standards.

One wall is wallpapered with letters from cyclists complaining about motorists, especially motorcyclists. Bloody motorcyclists, what are the Police doing about keeping them out of cycle lanes? Blah blah fecking blah.

The opposing wall is papered in letters from motorists, including motorcyclists, complaining about cyclists. Bloody cyclists, when are the Police going to do something about making them stop at red lights, stop signs, keep left, blah blah fecking blah.

It's not the mode of transport that's the problem, it's the attitude and behaviour of the driver, rider, cyclist.

I'm going to suggest a new wallpaper for Da Boss. It'll be one covered in letters from people complaining about knob-end road users, no matter what form of transport they choose.

There are 4 sides to his office? How about a wall about truckies and one from truckies?

Whats legality got to do with it? Its common courtesy to move over and allow other vehicles to pass if you are holding them up. (This is happening on skinny country roads)

If the "string of cyclists" ahead of me suddenly decides to go two abreast as I am approaching its not going to be my undoing

Just for clarification - cyclists only piss me off when Im in my car. easy enough to pass on the bike

Yeah? We'll just see how well done up you are after taking out a dozen cyclists.

Undoing? Done up? If it wasn't your undoing then you'd still be done up.

I must be more careful when replying - like that's going to happen. Original corrected, it was iYRe I should have been replying to.

    Bear Trap Pedals.
Fucking up morons-who-can't-get-out-of-way legs since ages ago.

I used to sharpen mine before nationals. Kick off from the gate took on a whole new meaning back then.

Clip-in pedals are for pussies who ask "please may I pass" for 5 minutes.
