How pertinent... If your on the road you have to look after yourself & manage your own risk regardless of motivation.
On my way home last night, dusk, howling gale, pishing down, can't see shit, I some how managed to register two cyclists ahead both wearing dark clothing. No lights until I was on top of them & then the rear rider switched on a wee red flashing LED, must have been saving batteries..... The front rider had a white light... aw, sharing.
Point is, they were virtually invisible in the circumstances, made worse by the lights of on coming traffic which forced me to follow them because they were out wide avoiding road side crap. No space to get past courteously & safely. They were taking a HUGE risk in the conditions, any accident would have been the drivers fault but how do you avoid something you cannot see?
I hope they got to there destination safely, probably church with faith like that.
